Weekly Wisdom from Karen
ILLUMINATION’S MIRROR Edition #awareness #lifelessons #writing #advice #feminism
Welcome lovelies to this week’s round-up of engrossing and illuminating stories. Also, you’ll find some damn good advice!
Kim Zuch writes about the outdoors, she says so in her profile. She gives sound advice about camping that could also be applied to many locations, not just campsites.
Camping is a great way to spend time outdoors with the family. Roasting marshmallows and sleeping under the stars make unforgettable childhood memories.
Who didn’t love Dr. Seuss when they were kids? Sarah Caitríona Chrisp gives her version of the advice and the places and how they changed her life.
The most powerful lesson I learned from Dr. Seuss came from his book — Oh, the Places You’ll Go!
In it, he described roughly seven locations that, once I knew them, completely changed how I perceived my own life. And now, in my own words, I’d like to share these locations with you.
Become your own hero!
Tom McLaughlin understands where editors are coming from and shares his wisdom with other writers. Thank you, Tom.
You’ve done it. You finished that one article that you have been spending a long time on. But it was because of the work, not for lack of skill. You give it another read, then you submit it.
Lower your defences.
Esther George shares her life wisdom based on the conclusions she has come to. Her words resonate strongly if you’ve achieved what she has.
They say kindness is one of the fastest and most gratifying ways to inspire greatness in ourselves and others because pleasant people bring much-needed light into dark places. The world doesn’t need more hatred or selfishness.
True freedom is endeavoring to care deeply without striving
Feminist or not, Aima Tariq, discusses some excellent points for both sides. Feminism has been tarred with the man-hating brush. Personally, equality still has a long way to go for most of us. Let’s just say that a certain sector of men is more equal than others. Say no more.
I am quite an open-minded person but when it comes to hot topics like; should I take Meghan’s side or Kate’s, should I write every day on Medium or thrice a week, and whether I believe in feminism, my brain ceases to give an accurate answer.
Rising Star
Dr. Preeti Singh has the highest number of reads on ILLUMINATION’S MIRROR at the time of writing this. I thought we all might like to congratulate her! This prolific writer is also an editor of four ILLUMINATION publications.
I’ve always thought there’s some truth behind myths and legends, either that or very imaginative storytellers.
In India, people believe a lot that there are some numbers that are very lucky and some that should be avoided at all costs because they bring bad luck.
I hope you got as much as I did from this week’s wisdom writers. Thank you for reading lovelies.
