We Are Our Words (Digest #20)

Paper Poetry Connect Letter for the timeline of June 30— August 3, 2021

Hello, Wonderful people around the globe,

I sincerely hope that you all are well and safe in your respective places.

It is after a while, I guess. Our editors took a break on the first two weeks of July (except for some earlier scheduled projects). It was a necessity to safeguard our mental strength. During the last 1.5 years, we had our ups and downs in our lives, be it professional or personal. Incidents took place; trauma crawled in; however, well-wishes, prayers, and patience helped to stay strong and move ahead.

I always utter, “stay safe, stay healthy.” And share your good words (perhaps with a smile, if convenient) with others.

A spark of positivity always helps, don’t you think!

Poetry series

jenine bsharah baines has portrayed a beautiful narrative through her poetry series, Daou in July. Thank you, Jenine; what an excellent illustration of light and illumination you have presented to our readers.

As already introduced by Indubala, our new poetry series is on ‘Aurora,’ to be presented in the beautiful words of Sahil Patel. The first poem, Aurora is The Hope, is out there.

So please take a look, and if convenient, please leave a few words of encouragement.

Paper Poetry is stepping into its 1st anniversary

… before it’s time, Let our handwritten words cheer, for the joy of poetry and emotions, For one last time. (Poem: Paper Poetry)

Ah, it seems like yesterday (delusion, isn’t it)! On August 17, 2020, I wrote a poem to invite some friends and respected poets active in Medium to join Paper Poetry, a newfound publication. The intention was to express our emotions in words on paper. And the response was overwhelming for me!

This August 17 will mark the first year of Paper Poetry. The journey wasn’t smooth; however, the love and encouragement we received and the bonding we created is something to be cherished, always.

We are 466 followers strong after one year, adding exciting content for our readers and collaborated with different publications during this time frame. We learned a lot! Our learning and our honest intentions to present great content will surely enlighten us for the journey to come.

Meanwhile, if you want to share your words for our first anniversary, we will be happy to share your words. So please share with us your poem, prose, story, journal, doodle, art, or relevant artistic expressions by August 16, with the tag ‘Paper Poetry 1 Year,’ and we will highlight your story with our readers.

We will also share a special edition letter highlighting some of the enlightening chapters of Paper Poetry on August 17.

Stay tuned!
