He quickly noticed I was not happy with it, as I ran to the kitchen to get a broom, which doesn’t help with anything except moral support. Cat and Mouse Time

For one of those ‘oh, yick’ moments!

Here’s my attempt at summertime humor when my cat brought me a live mouse. So proud of himself, he brought it in from the garage, paraded around with it in the living room where I sat innocently reading a book. He quickly noticed I was not happy with it, as I ran to the kitchen to get a broom, which doesn’t help with anything except moral support. So Renard, the smart cat that he is, simply carried the wiggling mouse back to the garage. And being the wimp that I am, I slammed the door. Can you tell I’m not too fond of mice?

These two poems are my attempt to turn an unwelcome afternoon happening into a funny memory.

Scurry back outside, you’re not welcome in my home, curious gray mouse. A tiny, fearless intruder, you’ll be greeted by my cat.
