Summary

The article discusses the discrepancies in Instagram's censorship policies, particularly concerning the portrayal of women's breasts, as exemplified by the differing treatments of Madonna and Kendall Jenner, and the recent permanent ban of Pornhub's Instagram account.

Abstract

The content raises concerns about Instagram's content moderation practices, highlighting a double standard in the censorship of female nudity. It points out that while Instagram removed a photo of Madonna's nipple, it allows similar content from younger celebrities like Kendall Jenner and Kim Kardashian. The article also covers the permanent removal of Pornhub's Instagram account, which has sparked a debate about free speech and censorship. Pornhub has responded by advocating for fair treatment of adult performers and sex workers on the platform, contrasting the permissiveness of mainstream celebrities' sexual content with the strict enforcement against adult industry accounts. The piece further touches on broader issues surrounding Meta, such as its role in the spread of misinformation and the Rohingya Massacre, as well as Facebook's historical roots in misogyny.

Opinions

  • The author suggests that Instagram's censorship policies are inconsistent and potentially ageist and sexist, as they seem to favor younger celebrities over older women like Madonna.
  • There is a perceived hypocrisy in Meta's enforcement of community guidelines, which allows certain types of sexual content from mainstream celebrities while censoring adult performers and sex workers.
  • Pornhub is portrayed as a champion of free speech and anti-censorship in the wake of its Instagram account ban, despite its own issues with hosting content related to child sex trafficking.
  • The article implies that Meta, which owns Instagram, has a responsibility to address the proliferation of misinformation on its platforms and the real-world harm it can cause, such as the Rohingya Massacre.
  • The author criticizes the historical misogyny associated with Facebook's origins, suggesting it has contributed to a culture where men feel entitled to control women's bodies and the representation thereof.
  • A call for the liberation of women's bodies from censorship is made, advocating for the freedom of women's breasts and nipples on social media platforms.

War of the Breasts: Madonna vs. Kendall Jenner Only One Remain on Instagram

Pornhub gets the ax on Instagram

Where do you get your porn? Nothing wrong with porn unless it controls your life or affects your mental health. The problem with accessing porn sites is that you could unknowingly become an enabler for child sex trafficking.

And Pornhub isn’t an innocent bystander, the biggest porn website has a lot to explain and why its business is run in secrecy.

But this story isn’t about that, it is about Meta formerly Facebook, and why or how it censors breasts, but not all breasts are equal.

Male breasts are Ok. Oh, even Tommy Lee’s penis is Ok with Meta.

As for women's breasts, it depends. If you are a woman of a certain age, like Madonna who is in her 60s, you better keep your breasts to yourself. But for Kendall Jenner, Instagram doesn't mind her ‘young’ breasts and the same goes for Kim Kardashian’s ass.

And another thing, the company doesn’t care much about adult entertainment female actors, so better not post your breasts if you’re an OnlyFans model.

Today, Instagram bans Pornhub on its platform, something the porn site is now using as its battle cry for free speech and anti-censorship.

Pornhub suddenly becomes the champion of women’s breasts.

Maybe someday they can champion children who were abused and remove the videos that remain posted on its platform, especially from countries like the Philippines, where child trafficking is a major problem.

In a story by TechCrunch,

After a weeks-long suspension, Pornhub’s account has been permanently removed from Instagram.

Instagram told TechCrunch that Pornhub has repeatedly violated community guidelines, prompting the account’s removal. Meanwhile, Pornhub declared in an open letter to Meta and Instagram that Instagram’s enforcement of these platform rules are “opaque, discriminatory and hypocritical.” Addressed to four Meta executives, including CEO Mark Zuckerberg and Instagram head Adam Mosseri, the letter was endorsed by 60 signatories from the adult entertainment industry. — Excerpt, Instagram permanently disabled Pornhub’s account

Meta says Pornhub uses Instagram to recruit new adult performers, but the porn website instead asks an explanation from Meta why breasts or nudity from the Kardashians are allowed and yet many adult performers have experienced their IG accounts removed without any explanation.

Even Madonna felt Instagram was sexist when it removed a photo of her breasts, maybe the IG guys are ageists.

We demand fair treatment on Instagram for adult performers, sex worker and any compliant adult business including Pornhub.

While mainstream brands and celebrity accounts frequently feature nudity and overt sexuality with no repercussions, our fully PG accounts are regularly banned without adequate explanation. Pornhub’s safe-for-work account has been disabled for three weeks.

In the interim, Kim Kardashian has posted her fully exposed ass to her 330 million followers without any restrictive action from Instagram.

We are happy to see that Kim and the artistic team behind the image are free to share their work on the platform, but question why we are denied the same treatment. While Kim’s photo continues accumulating likes and making headlines, members of the adult community run the risk of deplatforming if Instagram decides our pants look a bit too tight to meet its arbitrary and selectively-enforced ‘standards.’ — Excerpt from the letter from Pornhub signed by adult actors/actresses.

Is Madonna too old to be doing this?

Recently Madonna posted some “playful photos” on her Instagram account, and some fans or trolls reminded her that she is no longer in her 20s.

Hello, this is Madonna and her photo was taken down, only because her 63-year-old nipple was showing. She also didn’t get any explanation from Meta when she asked why.

Madonna Instagram

When she posts photos of herself, we have a choice. We can always swipe away without leaving a comment that makes us ageist.

A photo on Madonna Instagram account showed a picture of her with one of her nipples.

And Instagram, true to their community guidelines, removed the photo. Madonna then reposted the post as shown on the photo above, with this caption.

I’m reposting photographs Instagram took down without warning or notification….. The reason they gave my management that does not handle my account was that a small portion of my nipple was exposed. It is still astounding to me that we live in a culture that allows every inch of a woman’s body to be shown except a nipple. As if that is the only part of a woman’s anatomy that could be sexualized. The nipple that nourishes the baby! . Can’t a mans nipple be experienced as erotic ??!! And what about a woman’s ass which is never censored anywhere. Giving thanks that I have managed to maintain my sanity through four decades of censorship…… sexism……ageism and misogyny. — Madonna Instagram

Kendall Jenner’s breasts on Instagram

The Kardashians, who wouldn’t want them on their platform? They have an audience who is always hungry for anything about them.

Trying to lose weight, it won’t be long before you find a Kardashian way of losing weight.

So, does Meta favor one over the other? I don’t know, all I can tell you is that Madonna can’t post her nipples but Kendall can!

Final words

Meta as a company has a lot to answer from the misinformation that continues to proliferate on its social media platforms. Also, for the death that resulted in the Rohingya Massacre in 2017.

Meta’s algorithms “proactively amplified and promoted content” on Facebook, which incited violent hatred against the Rohingya beginning as early as 2012.

Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg denied the origin story of Facebook if it was in fact a product born out of misogyny when he started a website that rated Harvard women if they were Hot or Not.

Although he was young then, it only shows why men think they have a say in women’s bodies.

Free women’s breasts. Free women’s nipples.

As for Pornhub, like Facebook, there will come a time that as a company you have to ‘pay’ for your sins.
