REGENERATIVE FUTURE

Wanna Write Healing, Ranting, Unleashing Stories? 3 Ways to Be Successful

The world is shifting, do you feel it?

The world is shifting. Do you feel it? More and more people realize we live in a broken world. And we are starting to realize why. We are starting to do something about it.

What is happening? We are in The Great Transition right now. Our past has become broken because we glorified power. Hierarchy and greed. Oppression and polarization.

And the shift is all about moving from Cartesian thinking to Deep Ecology. Humans are no machines. We have souls. And if we rewild those souls we will see whole new horizons.

There are only three kinds of stories relevant in the world right now. And on this platform, many writers are using these stories to become successful.

  1. Healing the past
  2. Unleashing the future
  3. Personal transformation

We, as storytellers, might have the most important job in the world right now. We write new narratives together. One post at a time. One picture at a time. One film at a time.

And if we do it well, if we are as relevant as we can be to our specific niche audience, we will be successful with it. Will be enormously impactful with it. And attract an extra income stream to our bank accounts with it…

Healing the Past

Healing the past has a lot to do with restoring the power balances in our world. Here is a wheel of power and privilege made by Sylvia Duckworth, adapted from other attempts to clarify our inequalities.

Made by Sylvia Duckworth and explained in an Instagram post.

What stories can we tell to heal the past?

  • If you have power in a certain segment, you can become successful by supporting other storytellers with less power fiercely and honestly. Not taking their light and shining instead of them. No, adding your light to theirs and make them shine even brighter

E.g. it’s not up to me to tell the stories of being black. I don’t know how it feels to be black in a world of white power. But I do share the stories that Rebecca Stevens A. tells about power and privilege.

I do support Mara Livermore, and Ruth King, and all of my other sisters in our heroine’s journey on TheHeroines.co, fiercely. Especially in the areas where I have some more power than they have. They inspired me to tell this specific story. Thanks, my change-making sisters…

E.g. I do write about the world feeling unsafe for introverts, although I’m an introvert who healed her own issues with the shyness related to it rather well.

  • If you are a person who feels powerless because of a certain segment of this wheel, please don’t stay stuck in your victimhood feelings. Feelings are meant to feel and let go

E.g. rants are really beautiful and can have great healing powers. Whenever I rant, I realize why I do it. I heal myself with this process of ranting, maybe inspire others with it, and move on.

And the more I am able to come out of my place of feeling a victim, the more powerful I become. The more successful I become.

Then there comes a point when you don’t need to heal yourself anymore. And you’ll rant honestly anyway. With lots of emotions you remember, and can still feel in your bones. But they don’t hurt anymore. And the impact of your rants will be even bigger…

  • Healing the past needs a lot of counter-cliche storytelling too

E.g. I write about women-economists who don’t get the podium they deserve for their impactful work. I write about the famous J.K. Rowling who writes from fear instead of love.

E.g. I write about our fear for nature and how it can turn into love for nature because our universe is all we have. I write about the wrong notion that the philosopher Descartes was a man to glorify. He made us into machines. It’s time to rewild our souls

Unleashing the Future

The future is unknown to us. We walk with our backs to the future because we can only see the past and we can only experience the present.

So unleashing the future needs art. Imagination. It needs daring and big visions.

If we do it well, the universe will help us unleash the future. It will create serendipity, synchronicity. It will make the wave of change grow momentum and make it more powerful. And the more we add to the diversity of drops and patterns, the better it works.

What stories can we tell to unleash the future?

  • Moonshot stories are my favorites. They are ambitious, have a strong sense of time and urgency, and are really full of unleashing the power of the universe

I wrote a few now. The open letter to Elon Musk is an example. Or the moonshot speech by Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.

But there are many more possibilities. They don’t have to involve rockets and technology and moon, though. They can involve all kinds of subjects. I wrote about daring and connecting dots without any moonshot too.

  • The Heroine’s or Hero’s Journey is another powerful storytelling format. I wrote my heroine’s journey and unleashed a lot of future for me and my mission in life

My stories are always full of nature metaphors. I unleash a better future easier that way. The universe understands nature’s language…

One thing unleashing-the-future-stories also have in common is that they have an intention at their core. An intention is always written in the present tense. As if this future were already true in all her aspects.

I love to tell my stories like that. Just look into the future and imagine myself already being there. You have to take care though that it doesn’t become just fiction if you want to tell non-fiction stories. Non-fiction needs strong roots in the actual present.

Try it… You might like it…

Personal Transformation

This is the category that fits all storytellers, whatever your subject. It’s about personal growth. About how you became the wiser person you are today.

Personal transformation stories are just that. Personal.

But the successful personal transformation stories are not just about you. They are very relevant to your specific, niche audience.

The successful personal transformation stories have some things in common:

  • You turn up real and sometimes even raw when relevant to a specific story
  • You combine emotion with relevance to your niche audience and use facts that can be accounted for. You use links to reputable websites
  • You use imaginative art and (moving) images and if they are not your own you always credit the maker
  • You feel gratitude that you can be part of this enormously impactful wave of change that is flooding the world and you connect to the other creators in it. The way you connect makes or breaks your audience
  • You stay inspired to create more. And more. And more.
  • You connect more. And more. And more…

Make your life as interesting as you can, my friends. Have an eye for details. Listen closely to conversations and learn. Observe. Observe. Observe. And you’ll never be without inspiration. Happy creating…
