There Is a Live-Action Pokemon Series in the Works, but It’s Not What You Think
The first trailer for this series was just released.
In some of my past posts, I’ve chatted about all sorts of Nintendo stuff and their games. You can find those links below.
But today, let’s dive into something fresh and exciting: a brand-spanking new Pokemon TV show that’s on the way. But hold onto your hats, folks, ’cause it’s not your typical Pokemon gig.
Hey folks, exciting news for all you Pokémon fans out there! Poketsume, a brand new live-action Japanese drama inspired by the beloved Pokémon series, just dropped its very first trailer. And guess what? It’s hitting your screens this month!
Now, before you get your Poké Balls all charged up, let’s dive into what makes this show stand out. Unlike Detective Pikachu, which gave us a glimpse into what Pokémon might look like in the real world, Poketsume takes a different route. It’s not about reinventing the Pokémon universe; it’s about blending the lines between gaming adventures and everyday life.
Meet Madoka Akagi, your typical Japanese office worker trying to make it big in the bustling city of Tokyo. But here’s the twist — she used to be quite the Pokémon trainer back in the day when she lived in the Kanto region. Yup, she’d spend hours battling and catching ’em all in Pokémon Red with her siblings.
Fast forward twenty years, and Madoka finds herself in the concrete jungle of Tokyo, working her tail off at an advertising agency called ADventure. Unfortunately, her job isn’t the exciting creative gig she’d dreamed of; instead, she’s stuck with a super stressful project that could make or break the company. Talk about pressure!
But hey, life has its funny ways of bringing back those sweet memories. Just when Madoka thought her Pokémon adventures were ancient history, her mom sent her a care package.
And what’s inside? None other than her old-school Game Boy Pocket and a copy of Pokémon Red. You can bet there’s more than meets the eye between her Pokémon escapades and her real-world challenges.
Now, for the big date you’ve all been waiting for — Poketsume is set to hit your screens on October 19, 2023. Get ready for some Pokémon nostalgia and new adventures.
As for those of you wondering about subtitles or dubbed versions, well, the publisher hasn’t dropped any hints about that just yet. But hey, who knows what surprises the Pokémon world has in store for us?
Final Words
So, there you have it, Pokémon enthusiasts — October 19 is the day you’ll want to tune in to TV Tokyo for the Poketsume premiere.
Until then, keep your Poké Balls handy, and stay tuned for more exciting Pokémon news on the horizon!
