The New Voice Actors for Rick & Morty Were Just Revealed
The seventh season of Rick & Morty has new voice actors, and we now know who they are.

If you’ve been following my earlier posts, you know I’ve chatted about all sorts of stuff related to TV series like Rick & Morty. You can find those links at the bottom of this post.
But right now, let’s dive into the latest season of Rick & Morty and the cool new voice actors who’ve stepped in for Justin Roiland.
So, you won’t believe it, but the latest season of Rick and Morty just dropped, and with it, the new voices of our beloved characters were unveiled! It’s been a wild ride, as we all remember the drama involving Justin Roiland, one of the show’s creators, and the subsequent decision to give him the boot and recast the leading roles.
Can you believe that was less than a year ago? But here we are, already diving into season 7 with fresh voices that are nailing it, and we gotta give them some credit.
Now, we’ve all been sitting on the edge of our seats, wondering who would step up to the plate and take on the challenge of recreating those iconic voices. I mean, come on, Rick and Morty have voices that are basically trademarked!
But, lo and behold, the show managed to score some pretty darn awesome newcomers, who’ve slipped into those roles like they’ve been doing it forever.
So, let’s talk about the new kids on the block. Rick, the mad scientist with a tendency for chaos, is now voiced by Ian Cardoni, who you might know from his role in Clear History. And Morty, the neurotic but oddly romantic grandson, is now in the capable hands of Harry Belden, who’s had his fair share of TV appearances, including a role in Christmas Again.
Seriously, if you’ve already caught the premiere or seen the trailer, you know that these guys are rocking it as the new Rick and Morty duo.
Now, here’s the kicker — these guys aren’t exactly A-list celebrities with mega-resumes in voice acting. Nope, they’re kind of under the radar, which is kinda cool if you ask me. You see, a lot of shows these days try to cash in on big names, even if they just sound vaguely like what they’re aiming for. But Rick and Morty decided to go in a different direction, and boy, has it paid off.
Ian Cardoni, the man behind Rick, may not be a household name in voice acting. Still, wrestling fans might recognize him from Wrestlemania 36 and 37, where he made quite a name for himself by impersonating Johnny Depp’s Captain Jack Sparrow. And guess what? If you listen closely, you can hear some Rick vibes in his voice. It’s like Jack Sparrow and Rick had a lovechild!
As for Harry Belden, he’s been quietly making appearances on various shows over the past few years. You might have spotted him in Joe Pera Talks with You, Chicago Med, Proven Innocent, or even as Will in Disney’s Christmas Again from 2021.
And let me tell you, his portrayal of Morty is spot-on. He’s got that nervous, jittery energy down to a T. In a show where the titular duo embarks on wild adventures through time, space, and dimensions, having versatile actors like Cardoni and Belden is a real blessing.
Now, don’t get me wrong; there might still be some die-hard fans out there who are a bit bitter about the change in voices. But we’ve got to remember why this all happened in the first place.
Those abuse allegations against Justin Roiland were serious business, and it was essential for the show to distance itself from that. We must show abuse victims that they’re heard, and believed and that justice is served. So, any minor differences in the new performances are well worth it.
Final Words
We’ve got a bit of a journey ahead of us with this new Rick and Morty, but Cardoni and Belden have plenty of time to keep proving to us why they’re here to stay.
If you’re still on the fence about the change, I’d say give it a chance, and you’ll see what these talented folks bring to the table.
In the end, it’s all about the love for the show and the characters we adore.
