The New Star Completed The 3rd Milestone

ILLUMINATION-Curated has gained 30,000+ followers

My goal is to be a catalyst for as many writers as possible to shine on Medium. I pay more attention to my publications than my personal account on Medium. Even though my publications are now followed by around 120,000 members on Medium, my personal account is followed by only 6,000 members.

I am not obsessed with numbers. However, I diligently measure the performance of my ventures qualitatively and quantitatively. Meaningful data serves as feedback and tells us how our services are performing.

I believe in serendipity and surrender to it yet make concerted effort to create it meaningfully. Creation starts with chaos. And I only focus on excellence rather than perfection.

Milestones

Measuring the performance of publications with milestones has been helpful to me. Data comes from everywhere.

This morning when I was checking my emails, some online friends sent me links from Facebook. They were saying that people are criticizing your publication and defaming your reputation.

I just scanned them quickly. They were noise created by myopic thinkers who have no idea about the real world issues manufacturing nonsense for self-promo. For example an editor of a tiny politics publication with a single editor himself was questioning the editing capabilities of my publications supported by 66 editors. Ironically, this person has never been involved in our writing and reading community. He seemed to gain sympathy and be trying to gain followers on Facebook.

If I listen to those noises, it wouldn’t be possible to achieve eight substantial milestones for ILLUMINATION and three milestones for ILLUMINATION-Curated.

Recently we experienced 80% rise in our curation rate. We improve the quality incrementally and experience the positive results gradually. A majority of our writers are now following our quality checklist and submitting excellent stories.

As Dew Langrial mentioned in this curated masterpiece, people attack me, but they also try to personify me. I feel attacked and attracted at the same. Alison Tennent shared her findings of a troll who attempted to ruin my reputation and managed to get my beloved publication closed once.

It is a bit scary, but we need to accept the reality of the online world. It is not possible to stop fake accounts, fake news, ridiculous allegations, and spam emails. Good things come with bad things for polarity. But good deeds always win.

Interestingly a writer who was fascinated by my account asserted that she completed thorough research on my background, and she was unable to find any greatness about me. I never claim superiority about my personal achievements. It is not my goal to self-promote. Honestly, when I completed my doctoral degree over two decades ago, I learned that I knew nothing. I still believe that we know nothing when we look at the vastness in the big scheme of the universe and multiverses. Cosmology always fascinates me.

I digress. Let me get back to the milestone of our bright star in the Medium universe.

In its first 75 days, ILLUMINATION-Curated achieved its first milestone serving 10,000 readers by the contributions of hundreds of top writers.

Six weeks after, it completed its second milestone.

And again, six weeks later, today, it achieved its third milestone.

Why did ILLUMINATION-Curated become so popular in such a short time?

The main reason is that ILLUMINATION-Curated offers a unique publishing model giving voice to hundreds of top writers.

I designed ILLUMINATION-Curated as a strategic initiative to address the unique needs of writers and readers on Medium.

Readers expect variety and want to experience well-structured and authentic voices, even in the form of raw writing. I shared my findings in this story.

I offer meaningful and realistic goals to our writers contributing to ILLUMINATION. These goals serve the purpose of elevating the skills of writers at all levels on ILLUMINATION and give them a chance to submit more refined stories to ILLUMINATION-Curated.

Initially, I invited only advanced and accomplished writers who had proved their writing skills via producing curated content.

However, now I also give writers at several levels who can create outstanding stories a chance to submit to ILLUMINATION-Curated.

I am inspired and delighted that more and more writers are joining our ILLUMINATION-Curated crew each day. I present a clear path for our writers to achieve their writing goals. ILLUMINATION-Curated has this educative mission aiming to empower this planned path.

I am not just publishing and waiting for the readers to find our content. I also use several external tools and social media sites to amplify stories published in my publications. I strive for creating more visibility each day. For example, I regularly amplify story links on Flipboard, Quora Spaces, Pinterest, LinkedIn, Reddit, Facebook, and WordPress blogging.

ILLUMINATION-Curated has gained a broad audience due to variety and quality of published stories daily. I always converse with readers via various means and obtain their feedback. Our readers come from professional backgrounds in various disciplines including business, science, technology, philosophy, arts, fiction, poetry, and self-improvement.
