Number of Curated Stories Dramatically Increased
And I am very happy about it

As an owner and editor of my five major publications, ILLUMINATION, ILLUMINATION-Curated, ILLUMINATION’S MIRROR, Technology Hits, and SYNERGY, I noticed a massive increase in the number of curated stories distributed by Medium recently.
Frankly, this was a surprise to me because the numbers of curated stories were minimal after the changes around November last year.
Many writers were disappointed during that period. Some even questioned their investment in Medium.
However, since last week, there is a noticeable increase in stories selected for distribution from my publications. Every cloud comes with a silver lining.
The most significant change was noticed on SYNERGY specializing in writing, editing, and freelancing topics. This is a new publication. Many writers like Tooth Truth Roopa Vikesh tasted Medium curation and distribution first time on SYNERGY.
I don’t know what exactly caused this unexpected increase in the number of distributed stories, but I have some ideas and am very happy for the recognition of our contributing writers by curators and new readers.
We pay attention to distributed stories because they can bring more readers and trigger the content to go viral.
My publications have a strong focus on improving quality gradually by providing guidance to writers and encouraging them to follow Medium rules and curation guidelines.
We not only govern the publication but also provide education to our new writers to produce enjoyable content.
Here is a sample guide for beginners.
We developed publication conduct guidelines, easy to follow quality assurance checklist, policies for handling photos, and several curation tips. You can find our resources for writers on the ILLUMINATION Blog.
Each new writer joining our publications receives an onboarding pack providing them essential guidance and resources.
Our editors review the materials diligently and recommend improvements to writers. Most of the writers take the recommendations well.
This proofreading and editing is a free service to our contributing writers from our volunteering editors.
Medium curation is helpful for our writers, but we also boost their stories by featuring and further distributing by using our publications’ facilities.
Some editors feature outstanding stories and create further visibility to the profiles and content of these authors. Dew Langrial dedicated a considerable amount of time to feature remarkable stories from our collections. While featuring the stories, Dew is also providing useful tips and ideas. Here is the latest one from Dew.
Karen Madej has been producing weekly features. The Maverick Files has also started a new series. I will compile all these valuable featured stories and share them on the ILLUMINATION Blog.
In addition, our editors provide help, guidance, and mentoring service in our Slack workspace. Marcus freely edits the stories of many emerging writers. I am so grateful that Marcus coming from a law background, also helped me edit some of my high impact articles, particularly with legal implications and spiritual flavor.
