The Betrayal Cuts Deep
You too, Brutus
Random Word Drabble Challenge Day 75 Word Is Household.

A drabble is exactly 100 words, no more, no less. Since drabbles are so short, please remain on the page for at least 30 seconds. Leave a comment, highlight something that interests you, and clap up to 50x if you liked it.
On the Ides of March, whispers echoed through the narrow streets of Rome like shadows dancing in the dusk.
Mario, a humble servant of Brutus’s household, went about his evening chores. While sweeping the hearth, he couldn’t shake the ominous feeling lingering in the air.
Mario exchanged anxious glances with his fellow servants after the news of Caesar’s demise. Had their master, the emperor’s friend, shared the same fate?
A frantic knock rattled the wooden door as the full moon rose and the Ides slipped away. Their master was amongst Caesar’s backstabbers.
Panic gripped them as the betrayal became clear.
For this drabble, the random word to build the story around is “household.”
