A Huge Weight to Carry

Awaiting the verdict

Random word drabble 73: “carry”

The pressure of being a witness in a murder trial and even being placed under protection had been a huge weight for me to carry these past weeks.

I was relieved that it appeared to be almost over - providing the jury could reach a decision of course.

I was more hopeful than confident that it would pan out the way I wanted, with a ‘guilty’ verdict. I wasn't exactly an eye witness but my evidence did place the defendant at the scene of the crime, and presented a possible motive.

In fact I felt more nervous now than ever before.
