Thank You Notes News #5

Dear Lovely Readers and Writers,

What a heartwarming week it has been here at our family home — Thank You Notes. Every time a submission comes in, my heart lights up with joy!

This past weekend here in Oregon, it was warm and sunny. My husband and I decided to enjoy the weather by doing a small backyard project.

We had cut down a small volunteer tree in our front yard to make room for a flower garden. The logs from that tree will fuel our backyard fire pit this spring and summer.

All of the logs were piled up on our deck. A large nest of twigs and sticks sat on top. It was a bit messy, so my husband started a fire to burn the tree stump and all of the twigs.

I set out to store the extra firewood in a storage bench on the side of our house that I had cleaned out. After that, I swept and cleaned the deck.

At that moment, when everything was cleaned up; and the fire was igniting with beautiful warm flames reaching up towards the sky, I imagined all of you being here to enjoy it.

Here at Thank You Notes, it feels as if we have known each other for a long time. As we gather each week, it feels like we can warm our hands by the fire, gather around and tell our stories.

I invite you to keep showing your stories of love, appreciation, and gratitude here every week. It warms our hearts and souls, just like a fire.

This week, I invite you to share: Prompt #5:

A thank you note, story, or poem about your grandparents or someone who treated you with love and care like a grandparent.

Now I want to share the beautiful stories, poems, and notes written this past week here at Thank You Notes.
