Snow for the Mind
December Six Word Photo Story Challenge: “Snow & White”
Snowy stories for a refreshing chill.
While I’m sitting on the terrace of my bungalow, seeing the beach right in front of me and hearing the waves crashing onto the shore, I’m reading my way through the wintery cold stories of all my favorite writers living in the northern hemisphere.
It’s weird but refreshing at the same time.
I love sitting or lying on or close to the beach and reading. And since I started to write on Medium over a year ago, I mainly read on Medium. There are plenty of awesome writers out there and even more quality articles. Some longer, some shorter. There’s always something to fit my mood.
And right now half of my terrace is already in the sun. I’ve moved to the corner in the shade since my skin is still white as a wall. Coming from wintery Germany I got no protection against the brutal tropical sun yet. Just shade.
And while I’m sitting here in my bikini and the sunglasses on, I read about hikes in the snow, the latest snowfall, or other snowy adventures from my fellow writers out there.
The above picture was taken on a glorious winter day in 2012. My dad and I drove to the Black Forest to visit my sister in the clinic when we decided to first go skiing in the mountains.
The weather was just too perfect. Too perfect not to go on the slopes. It had snowed the previous days and then got really cold. The snow on the trees was light which is why the pine trees were hanging full of white fluff.
Thank you Mary Chang for this fun writing prompt and the Six-Word Photo Story Challenge publication.
