More Snow Was Not Expected

December Six Word Photo Story Challenge: “Snow & White”

More snow fell all day Saturday.

For years I spent weekends and holidays at a cabin on top of a mountain. It was isolated but less than a hundred miles from a major east coast city.

Before I visited the cabin, I religiously checked weather forecasts. Heavy snow could strand me without hope of rescue. The cell phone usually did not work.

More than once, I arrived at the cabin with snow still falling. All too often, the weathermen were proven wrong as snow continued to fall beyond their prediction. Such situations created a dilemma: Do I stay or do I go.

About 90 percent of the time, I stayed. The falling snow was too beautiful to leave behind.

Special thanks to Mary Chang Story Writer for this month’s challenge. You can never get too much snow. I had forgotten this photo from 2019.
