Set Out on These 16 Spectacular Creative Adventures in 16 Days to Unleash Your Imagination
We are living in one of the most interesting times in history. If you have a laptop, a cell phone, and an Internet connection, you can instantly become an entrepreneur and build your own company. Information is abundant and free - you have access to the world’s knowledge at your fingertips. You can teach yourself anything that you want. You can master and teach any field. As you progress and learn new things, you can share your passions, curiosities, and creations with the world.
We are living in a digital economy where attention matters the most. Attention is the new gold — it is the cherished and sought-after thing. We are witnessing a new gold rush on social media and the Metaverse. Whoever captures attention rocks this new crazy world. In this world, manufacturing curiosity, surprise, and virality has become one of the most strategic success factors for individuals and companies. To prepare for this future, you need to tell your own stories, create your own personal brand, and connect with your own fans and tribe.
The world needs your creativity, imagination, and curiosity. As we enter the Metaverse era, you will be navigating new worlds and universes with your avatar. In this new era, you can be a superhero and amplify your unique strengths into superpowers. You can create your own adventures and games. You can cultivate fierce and fearless imagination. You can express your quirkiness, weirdness, and originality. You can connect unlikely fields and domains.
You do not need capital. You can use imagination to create your own creative assets and share them with the world. You can be creative to bring things that are fresh and exciting to the world. Imagination is the biggest source of asset creation in the future.
- From Star Wars to Marvel Cinematic Universe, from Spiderman to Harry Potter, all books and movies emerged because of someone’s imagination.
- Blockchain technologies emerged because of Satoshi Nakamoto’s imagination.
- NFTs became mainstream because Beeple used his imagination to create his artwork, “Everydays: the First 5000 Days” and decided to sell his wonderful creation using NFTs.
If you want to be super-successful in today’s world, you need to be creative and imaginative. Imagination is one of the most critical factors for success, wellbeing, and happiness today. Your imagination allows you to tap into rich worlds of possibility, dream about your future, invent new things, and share your stories with the world.
Imagination is a muscle — use it frequently. Imagination can be strengthened through practical exercises and experiments. To improve your imagination, give your brain puzzles, adventures, problems, questions, experiments, visualization exercises, and challenges every day.
Imagination is unbounded and unlimited. The more you use it, the more you will have it. For example, Thomas Edison was immensely productive, and he held more than a thousand patents. Edison tried to come up with an invention every week. Mozart composed over 600 pieces of music. Beeple created for 5000 days to create his record-breaking artwork. Therefore, it is important to force yourself to produce a huge quantity of work.
If you want to be innovative, create min. 20 to 30 ideas every day. In order to create a diamond idea, you need to create hundreds of charcoal ideas. Massive quantity equals more chances for cross-fertilizations and novel combinations. Because of pure probability theory, when you start idea sex, you increase your chances for long-term innovation and success.
My Big Challenge: To Create 99 Creative Adventures
Since January 2021, I have written a series of exercises and prompts for creative writing. My eventual goal is to create 99 different journeys of imagination. My original goal was 100 journeys, but my wife Sertac suggested 99 or 101 would be more interesting. I chose 99.
I hope to turn this into an ebook until June 2022 — and you are witnessing my progress in real-time. I have now written 91 articles (all have a kicker “Creative Adventures”) since January 2021, and I will write 8 more by the end of April 2022. So, you are following my adventure on Medium in real-time.
My goal is to create an ebook that features creative exercises. I call each journey a ‘creative adventure’. Each journey includes several creative writing prompts, so you can use them to challenge yourself to new heights of creativity. You can find all the previous installments and journeys below:
The first batch — Journeys 1–10:
The second batch — Journeys 11–21:
The third batch — Journeys 22–33:
The fourth batch — Journeys 34–46:
The fifth batch — Journeys 47–60:
The sixth batch — Journeys 61–75:
Taken together, this is a large body of creative writing exercises and prompts. You can implement them in less than 20 minutes every day.
Below, I will now share 16 additional creative adventures (76 to 91 — the seventh batch). These exercises will help you to kick-start your own journeys of imagination.

About This Challenge: 99 Creative Adventures
With this batch, I have now achieved creating 91 different creative adventures. 8 more to go. I will finish this challenge very soon and turn it into an ebook.
I created this challenge for myself because I know that I am way too busy. I am also very scared of writing. I am trying to write a book for years, and I keep failing at this goal. I thought I should start with a book project that will be pretty easy for me to accomplish.
If I break a book into many tiny chunks, it is easy for me to tackle this and write these small pieces throughout the year. That is how I thought. I aimed at creating the minimum viable product.
I did not aim for excellence. I aimed for momentum, easiness, and practicality. Each piece took me about one hour to write (sometimes more). That is how I was able to write about two pieces every week, regardless of how busy I was.
You can follow the same strategy for your book. Divide your larger goal into smaller chunks and write regularly.
Thank you very much for sharing and witnessing my journey of creation. I will share my process of creating the ebook with you as well. My goal is to produce and sell this ebook by June 2022 — fingers crossed.
Take-aways:
- Forget the career ladder and start creating your own assets. Imagination and asset creation are linked very closely. Imagine and create your own game. It is never too late to follow your interests, curiosities, and passions. Show up for creative work and use random prompts or anchors to get going. Start small — small is beautiful.
- Hunt for the most interesting stuff. Spend time every day learning new things that excite and surprise you. Be a hunter and learner of the most interesting things. Share your insights and excitement with the world. Shoot a very short video on YouTube, or write a very short article on Medium.
- Provide yourself with more opportunities for pure-play, exploration, and adventure. Similar to Bill Gates’ think weeks, schedule time in your calendar for learning and exploring new things. Remember: Time for playing or exploring is not wasted time.
- When you attempt to write a new article, you will face resistance and fear. This is the fear of the unknown. The fear of the risk of failure. That is why you need to conquer it. The best way to conquer it is by acting fast. Your medicine is to move (and start writing) in 5 seconds. Mel Robbins calls this rule the “5 Seconds Rule”.
- Astonish and scare yourself every day. You can use improvisation to increase adventure in your life. Try to apply automated writing, drawing, doodling, storytelling, creating, dancing, and singing in your life.
- Provide yourself with challenges to get out of your comfort zone. These challenges might be entrepreneurial, artistic, professional, mental, emotional, spiritual, physical, or creative challenges. Design your own challenges and adventures now. What will be your next adventures?
- The worst article that you write and finish today is better than the best article that you will write one day. That one day might never come. You might be dead. Move towards your dreams and take action NOW.
What should be the title of my new book?
I am hoping to publish my work as an ebook by June 2022. What should be the name of my ebook? I want to pick your brain on this.
- 99 Days of Creativity
- 99 Creative Adventures to Expand Your Imagination
- 99 Creative Journeys: Unleash Your Imagination
- The Creative Marathon: 99 Imagination Experiments
- The 99: 99 Creative Adventures
