Self-discovery Through Poetry Challenge Prompt:-6

Greetings poets,

I hope you are enjoying the prompts of the Lifeline Poetry Challenge. If you didn’t read the first five prompts, here you can find out the previous prompts.

I hope you will enjoy the previous prompts. In today’s prompt, we will have a chance to talk and write about something that we never told someone else.

God made all of us unique. We all have one thing in our lives that we are good at. Whether it’s painting, writing, swimming, or even running. We all have different talents. However, some of us never tried to identify what are we like to do or prefer to do.

We all have some secrets in our lives. Sometimes, we don’t share what we are. We don’t share our hidden secrets with anyone.

Therefore today’s prompt is,

Write a poem about a thing that no one knows about yourself? A secret that you keep carrying inside your heart and no one knows about it.

If you ask me this question, I would like to say that people see me as a strong person. A person who can handle all the things. Even, on Medium people know me as a leader.

On the other side, I am a very emotional and vulnerable person. Words affect me a lot. If someone says something bad or unpleasant words to me, it takes months for me to get over it.

I am an emotional person from the heart. I can’t let go of things and emotions easily. I try to predict that I am strong but I am not. I am a person who wants to be kind to everyone and expect that everyone will also be kind to me. However, everyone is not the same. We can’t have the people in our lives who will always be good with us.

I would like to sum up this piece by sharing one of the beautiful quotes about secrets.

“Anything will give up its secrets if you love it enough. Not only have I found that when I talk to the little flower or to the little peanut they will give up their secrets, but I have found that when I silently commune with people, they give up their secrets also - if you love them enough.”

-George Washington Carver

I hope you will enjoy this prompt and find something meaningful in it.
