Lifeline Poetry Challenge | 2022

Self-discovery Through Poetry Challenge Prompt:- 2

Today is the second day of the prompt of the Lifeline Poetry Challenge. I hope you enjoyed the first prompt of the challenge. If you haven’t checked out the prompt yet, here you can check it out.

In this second prompt, we are going to reflect on some important things in life. No one gets everything in life. Some get something more of and others get less of it.

I am on a journey of self-development and self-discovery. When I was thinking of a resolution for 2022. I asked myself a question what is that thing that I need more of in my life? What is the thing that I lack in my life that affects my life and my self-development?

After looking back at some of my main incidents of life, I found out that I am an impatient person who is always in hurry to get everything quickly.

Life is filled with challenges. Every challenge requires you to have a lot of patience. Not challenges, I believe life in itself requires patience to live.

Patience can transform your entire life. From career to relationships, patience has the power to change everything. When you handle anything with more patience, you will be able to look it at closely. When you see things closely, you will have more time to think about them and make a decision about them.

I am on the journey to be patient with myself, others, and with my life. Life is about growth, awareness, and learning. All these require you to have patience. If you want to learn something or acquire knowledge, you have to be focused and patient.

“Even a happy life cannot be without a measure of darkness, and the word happy would lose its meaning if it were not balanced by sadness. It is far better take things as they come along with patience and equanimity.”

-Carl Jung

Life can’t be rosy at all times. We all have darkness in our lives. Darkness should be handled with patience. God always helps the people who have patience and are ready to help others.

I believe to live a peaceful life, we have to pay the price of patience.

-Sahil Patel

I have realized that when things aren’t going our way, we all feel exhausted and worried. However, in those hard times, we forget to be patient and take decisions in anger. That’s where we make the biggest bad decisions in life. In the future, we don’t have the chance to erase all those mistakes.

I always write in my articles, that the beauty of life is that it gives us a chance to choose. However, the worst thing about life is that once we choose something, life doesn’t give us a chance to erase what we have already chosen. Life doesn’t give us a chance to make choice again.

If we get a chance to make choice again, we don’t have the same time we already lived. Therefore, when it comes to making decisions in life be very precise and careful about it. One bad decision is enough to ruin your entire life.

Therefore, today’s prompt is

Write a poem about a thing that need more of in your life? The thing that can change your life. Which is that one thing that if you had more in your life, your life may be changed now. Do think about it because next time you will be more aware when you are making life decisions.

I hope you liked the prompt and it helps you to discover yourself.

I would like to end this piece by mentioning one of my favorite quotes about having patience in life.

“As for goals, I don’t set myself those anymore. I’m not one of these 'I must have achieved this and that by next year' kind of writers. I take things as they come and find that patience and persistence tend to win out in the end.”

-Paul Kane
