Put It To Rest Newsletter #5

Enter Our First Writing Prompt Contest!

1. Writing Prompt Contest

Put It To Rest is having its first Writing Prompt Contest.

The categories are Poetry and Personal Essay and there will be one winner in each category: each winner will have their work featured on the homepage.

The topic is digging through the bones. We refer to bones figuratively so often like when we say I can feel it in my bones, flesh and bones, put flesh on the bones, a bag of bones, bare bones, and make no bones about it. But what do bones mean to you? How does digging through the bones result in self-discovery?

For eligibility please ensure you follow the editor and the publication. The submission deadline is July 1.

2. Open for Submissions

I offer new writers of Put It To Rest to be part of the Poetry Matters community. When you publish with Put It To Rest you get exposure on PoetryMatters Twitter and Poetry.Matters Instagram.

I also offer a writer’s collaboration and networking page through my Facebook account Poetry. Matters where you can join and follow to post and share your writing for fellow writers to support.

Lastly, once you publish 6 poems or essays with Put It To Rest, you will have a feature page for your writing in a section About Our Writers.

Here are the Calls for Submissions and the Writer’s Guidelines.
