Yes, We Remembered!

Poember December

Paper Poetry’s month-long prompt is here!

assembled by author in Canva using image by Speedy McVroom from Pixabay

Now’s the last month of the year, a time to reflect and remember in poetry sprinkled with rhyme Join us for Poember December!

Yay, Poember is back!!

Last year we ran Poember for the first time. We ran it in November as a month-long poetry event all about rhyme. We called it Poember November! Haha, coz it rhymes!!

It was hugely successful. So much so, that we had many contributing poets suggest we make it an annual event.

That was our plan — to run it again in November — but, oopsies, life got in the way, and guess what? It didn’t happen. 😢

Thank goodness, however, for small mercies — November and December rhyme, so we now have the chance to redeem ourselves. 😅

And here we are…

Poember December!

But let’s not get ahead of ourselves — there’s something we must attend to first and that’s thank our wonderful poets who responded to Indubala Kachhawa’s awesome October prompt, Is Reality Real?

Please take the time to savour these offerings, each one approaching the theme from a different yet equally thought-provoking perspective —

🍂 A Poem for the Souls of Kfar Aza Kubbutz, Israel — by Sherry Atkinson 🍂 There It Is Again — by Toni Crowe 🍂 The Mothers of War — by Sherry Atkinson 🍂 Two Sips of Reality — by Alebrije Poético 🍂 Outside My Sleeping Room — by Sherry Atkinson 🍂 A Fall Postcard — by Sinus Kosinus

Special mention to Sherry Atkinson whose powerfully moving story, The Mothers of War, was boosted for further distribution. Congratulations, Sherry. 👏 🏆 🌟

Might I also add here that, in the absence of an official Paper Poetry prompt in November, Sherry picked up the slack and issued her own prompt, Life in the Passing Lane. Please consider joining Sherry’s prompt whenever it suits you.

Thank you, Sherry, for your initiative and to everyone for your ongoing support — Suntonu, Indubala and I greatly value your loyalty to our publication as we each navigate our way through the challenges life has visited upon us in recent times.

Now back to business and the reason why you’re all here…

It’s Poember December, people! supreme rhyme-time to remember lyrical, comical, philosophical Let’s work wonders together!

Poems of any shape, size and form twined with a chime of rhyme assonance, sibilance, consonance Join us in a rip-rhyming time!
