Poetry | Life in the Passing Lane
I Prompted Myself a Twittle
In response to Toni Crowe 😉

I think I’ll prompt myself today
to pull some moments from my brain,
poetry to blow my readers away.
Crap! This is such a strain!
We have become quite spoiled here at Paper Poetry. Our editors have provided us with many thought-provoking prompts that started our creative juices flowing! And, like spoiled children, we sometimes take them, our dear editors, for granted. Toni Crowe posted a sweet nudge in her poem, Waiting, for another prompt from Paper Poetry, which let me know I wasn’t alone in my daily check-in to see if there was a new one.
However, we all know that life happens. If you follow Carolyn Hastings, one of the editors of Paper Poetry, you know she’s been busy navigating a new chapter in her life. Her days are full because of the many changes and challenges this new chapter presents. Despite this, she has remained faithful in publishing our offerings in a timely manner. I know we are all grateful for that!
So, perhaps we could prompt ourselves to write about life as we know it. We all face new realities and changes as we pass through this existence.
Let’s prompt ourselves to write about “Life in the Passing Lane”.
When we enter the passing lane while driving, we are changing lanes. What does that mean? What is positive about changing lanes? What is negative about passing from one phase/lane to another? Are you with me dear poets of Paper Poetry?
Carolyn, I hope you’ll forgive me for jumping in. You know I’m always grateful for your gentle editing and guidance. By the way, my twittle was a tip of my “silly hat” to you! 😁
