Photos of Samsungs XR Headset Have Been Leaked
Although it will be competing with the Apple Vision Pro, its looks are very different.

In this post, I will speak about XR headsets, as well as what has been leaked regarding the Samsung XR.
What is XR?
Alright, so check it out! Have you ever heard of “XR”? It’s like the kingpin of cool tech terms, covering a bunch of awesome stuff like Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), and Mixed Reality (MR).
Imagine a mind-blowing blend of the real world and the virtual universe that takes your gaming and experiences to a whole new level of awesome!
Now, let’s get cozy with XR headsets, the superheroes of the XR world. Imagine strapping on these futuristic goggles, and bam! You’re zapped into another world. Okay, maybe not a whole new world, but it definitely feels like it!
VR is like the star player in the XR headset game. When you pop on one of those bad boys, you’re diving headfirst into a digital wonderland. It’s like leaving reality behind and stepping into a whole new dimension (visually, at least).
Think about it — swimming with sharks, jetting through space, or taking on zombies like a champ, all while lounging in your living room!
Then there’s AR, another wild card in the XR headset deck. Instead of whisking you away to a whole new world, AR jazzes up your reality with some digital magic. It’s like having a virtual wizard in your pocket!
AR headsets let you see digital stuff floating around you, or even mess around with virtual characters right in your space. Wanna play Minecraft on your kitchen table? AR’s got your back!
But hold on to your hats, because here comes the real deal — Mixed Reality (MR) headsets. These bad boys combine the best of both worlds, throwing you into the ultimate experience. With MR, you’re still in your world, but it’s overlaid with mind-blowing digital goodies.
Imagine playing an insane game where your living room turns into a warzone! It’s like smashing together your wildest dreams and reality.
And let me tell you, these XR headsets are packed with some seriously wicked tech. Their high-res displays put your regular HD TV to shame. Some even track your eyeballs, so the virtual world follows your gaze!
And don’t even get me started on the motion tracking — your head moves and gestures control the XR universe. You’re basically the master of your very own digital kingdom!
About the Samsung Galaxy XR
Samsung’s response to Apple’s Vision Pro has caused quite a stir, with leaked images of their upcoming mixed reality VR headset.
It seems like Samsung’s legal team is already in action, as the original report containing images and specifications has mysteriously disappeared from the online scene, hinting that the leaks might indeed be accurate.
But hold on a second, why is Samsung breaking a sweat over this? If the leaked specs hold true, we might be in for one heck of a ride with this mixed-reality VR headset. I mean, we’re talking potential mind-blowing stuff here.
Samsung had hinted at the development of a mixed-reality headset earlier in February, but they didn’t drop a lot of details. All we knew was that they were cozying up with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon XR tech for the processor and were cozying up even closer to Google for the operating system.
According to the Washington Post’s report at that time, this OS was shaping up to be a brand-spanking-new version of Android, tailor-made for gadgets like wearable displays.
TM Roh, Samsung’s head honcho in the mobile experience department, had teased that the headset wasn’t going to keep us waiting for ages. And now, this juicy leak suggests that we’re either on the brink of its launch or are already hurtling toward it.

Let’s dive into this prototype headset — note that since it’s still a work in progress, the specs could very well change before it hits the shelves. Now, imagine four tracking cameras — kinda like those you’d find on the Meta Quest 2 — chilling in spots that make sense.
But what’s really captivating is the lenses in this headset; they’re more pancake-like, akin to the Quest 3’s lenses. Plus, there’s a double-shot of cameras, just like the Quest 3, for all your nifty pass-through needs — you know, so you can actually see your surroundings.
Under the hood, the processor seems to be the Samsung Exynos 2200. It’s an improvement over the first-gen Snapdragon XR2 that’s powering the Quest 2, but it’s not quite in the league of the second-gen Snapdragon that’s about to debut in the Quest 3 later this year.
Here’s the deal though — the Exynos processor has a reputation for being quite the energy guzzler and tends to get cozy-hot, which might not be the best news for a VR headset.
Now, the plot thickens. Brace yourself, because the report claims that this Samsung beauty isn’t being buddy-buddy with hand controllers. Nope, it’s going to be waltzing in the footsteps of the Apple Vision Pro, using a combination of eye and hand-tracking wizardry.
It’s clear that Samsung’s got its sights set on the Vision Pro — South Korean sources even spilled the tea about Samsung delaying its launch plans after the Vision Pro made its grand entrance.

But the burning question remains: What exactly is Samsung tweaking in their prototype post-Vision Pro epiphany?
And for the grand finale, the price. Drumroll, please. While the cost is still under wraps, the report tantalizingly hints at a price range somewhere between the ballpark figures of $1,000 and $2,000. Now, that’s a spicy tidbit to chew on!
