Meet My Secret Idea Supplier

From where I get the most beautiful writing ideas

I have more than 50 writing ideas in my pocket right now. My secret idea supplier never disappoints me. All I need is to enter into her territory, allow her to devour me. That’s all. I know I will be flooded with ideas soon.

People rely on different sources, including news, YouTube videos, articles, books, magazines, Google, to get writing ideas. Ideas do come from those sources, no doubt. Even I get drenched with writing ideas while I am in the shower.

But my best ideas come from her, my secret idea supplier.

It happens every time while I take a walk. But I hardly realize it. I go empty-headed to experience nature’s offerings — birds, trees, water, and winds. I hear different sounds and smell the fragrance floating from somewhere.

I feel the breeze, the soft sun-rays, the blue-white sky, and the green field. I enter into the vast green, put off my shoes, and walk barefoot. I feel connected to the earth.

While wandering the street, I meet fearless foxes, encounter unpredictable monkeys, and if I am lucky, I find one or two porcupines or a few lizards in the proximity.

You may interrupt by asking, Wait! Is any of this have anything to do with writing ideas?

Hey, relax! I’m going there.

As you have already guessed, nature is my secret writing idea supplier. While exploring the natural world, I don’t take any notes — but my mind remembers the experience and stores ideas for my next writing, without even my knowledge.

That’s why when I sit on my desk to write something, nature whispers into my ear, and suddenly I know what to write. I feel the energy within. So I write The School of Nature.

While taking an evening walk, one day, I see a dead frog on the street. It breaks my heart. I keep no intention to write anything about it. But after a few days, I found myself writing Do Frogs Cross the Roads for Sex?

A few days ago, when after a long walk and bird-watching, I came back to my house feeling immense joy — little did I know that a few days later, I would write I Saw My Darlings on a Dye-Fig Tree.

On the street, I see people talking to each other. So I write While Talking to Someone — Don’t Litter Your Thoughts. I go to travel and come back heartbroken, seeing people’s unmindful plastic-pollution. So, my secret idea supplier tells me to write about people’s stupidity. I do what she tells me to do.

Nature gives me brilliant writing ideas. She stores all the beautiful topics, titles, and subtitles silently, and while I take the keyboard in my hands, she reveals one after another.

If I don’t like any of them, she provides me a few alternatives.

I think my secret idea supplier can help you too. But first, you have to disconnect yourself from electronic devices and reconnect to nature. You must hit the road and wander through the wilderness.

Trust me — nature is waiting outside for you. She is expecting you to offer some fresh and lovely writing ideas you could ever think of.

But, Alas! All you are doing is a stupid Google search to land on some cliche writing ideas.

Thank you for reading.
