DRABBLE STORY ARC #2: SEEK AND AVENGE

Meetings in the Forest

A chapter of a ‘choose your own’ story — drabble edition.

This is a continuation of The Burned Village, a ‘choose your own’ fiction story, “drabble edition”. Head back to the previous instalment, ‘Stony, Stony Path’, or find out how to contribute by clicking here.

You scramble forward. The lithe elf draws an arrow to her bow. “I come in peace!” you squeak, raising your hands.

“Ah — it’s a friend,” says Taryn, raising an eyebrow. They are bruised around the face, with bandages visible on their neck.

“Glad you made it,” you stammer.

“Hmm.”

“Thought you might be another orc,” says Dara, putting the arrow away. “I’ve killed several. Come — their base and prisoners are close.”

“What?” you cry, astonished.

“There’s work to do before that,” cautions Taryn. “Remember who set the orcs on your village in the first place? Piquantia must be dealt with!”
