While all of you are using great titles I’ve noticed that a few of you are a tad shy about using kickers. The kicker precedes the title of your article and is best described as a hook or classification tool. Using a kicker will help define for your reader if your work is fiction, a short story, or if your work is a memoir, or autobiographical piece, etc. Using your kicker will optimise search results to help lead traffic your way. It takes only a few seconds to action your kicker.
Simply kick back a space upwards from your title to produce the option for a kicker. Type your text. Highlight and click on the small T.

For a more in-depth explanation …
For examples of how a kicker can be used please view any of my stories or articles.
Before we move on to our featured writers and their stories, I’d like to give a big shout-out to Ashllyn T. who had these lovely words for The Scriber’s Nook:
‘I want to extend my gratitude to you and your team for creating The Scriber’s Nook, a platform that celebrates creativity, fosters community, and promotes meaningful engagement. 📚✍️🌟’
Thank you, Ashllyn, it means a lot to us! Take a peek at Ashllyn’s page, she has lots to offer on topics such as personal growth, health, lifestyle, pets, and more.
The Scriber’s Nook has become a haven of varied, interesting, and eclectic offerings. Here are just some of them.
★ Featured Writers
Josh E describes himself as a ‘fiction writer, bookworm, and Tolkien fanatic!’
In his poem, ‘She Pleaded Don’t Make Me Go’, Josh sensitively tackles the difficult decision we may all have to make one day and the ‘unimaginable’ strain and heartache it can cause.
Our Favourite Quote from ‘She Pleaded Don’t Make Me Go’:
It is the fear that controls her the fear one day she will wake hands bound to the frame as if damned by God condemned to a life of unstable anguish ruling her mind like a demon with a whip It is nothing of the sort and I assured her as much so I am praying when she arrives tomorrow her words no longer blame me of stricture but call me over with motherly love
You can read Josh’s full work here:
Passarozumbido is a poet who’s a ‘recovering perfectionist’ and ‘honorary member of the club for the perennially searching’ while also in ‘an intense spiritual affair’ with Sylvia Plath!
The Haiku ‘On Being’ is beauty and wisdom in a nutshell …
Our Favourite Quote from ‘On Being’:
… is not asked of those
Who have always been

Sujit Chakraborty’s ‘Poetry Everywhere’ takes us on a metaphorical journey of emotions …
Our Favourite Quote from ‘Poetry Everywhere’:
In fact, there’s nothing to understand in love and life.
It’s all about the journey to a beautiful valley of flowers.
Where spring is eternal …

Erohtar Isnam is a poet with a specialist interest in fantasy, horror, and ‘occasional’ political blogs.
In ‘God (A Poetry)’ she reflects on faith.
Our Favourite line from ‘God (A Poetry)’:
Who is God and where do we find them? Some say it is the belief, others have a portrait And a scripture. Some say it’s in the heart Some walk miles to bow before a lustrous sculpture. They say God resides in it …

In ‘Dear Friend’ Erohtar explores bittersweet memories.
Our Favourite Quote from ‘Dear Friend’:
You might look older now, so do I, isn’t it a relief, we still hold onto each other like cosmos of the sky. I know we both moved on no longer share walks to the outhouse or giggle at our silly essays. You might have cried the night I don’t know of and I wailed my eyes that you never saw but here I am and there you are

‘Rust of Heart’ (you guessed it, our Erohtar is quite prolific!) tells of a dream that evokes much sadness …
Our Favourite Quote from ‘Rust of Heart’:
I don’t know how it arises But you look at me happy And that was all I cared for it until opening my eyes

Milana Marsenich is a Western author who writes about books, dogs, and good living.
In ‘The Swankeeper: In Flight’ we take an evocative, almost mystical journey up Montana’s Mission Mountains.
Our Favourite Quote from ‘The Swankeeper: In Flight’:
A phantom swan swept in beside Lilly, pulling her back to the mountain, and moving her swiftly up the mountainside. The dense timber thinned and lightened, the moon passed west, and the sun came up over the eastern ridge. A feather fell into her hand, a quill for words written on the sky.

There is so much more that we look forward to including in our next edition.
