Maslow and I Found A Peace of Mind in FEW WORDS.
Many relate Maslow’s Hierarchy with human motivation. I don’t.

I relate it to a peace of mind.
Let me explain.
The standard presentation of the Maslow’s Hierarchy has 5 levels.
I synthesize them into 3 levels of human considerations.
The first level of consideration are basic ones. Physical form consideration such as housing and sanitation takes top priority on a daily basis as we have an ancestral tendency to seek shelter.
We seek shelter when it rains, when lightning strikes, during a hot day or when we have a bad day at work. Shelter can be referred to a physical form or an emotional form.
The ability to have basic considerations within control takes that level of human worry away.
The second level human consideration has to do with financial stability.
Since the advert of human societies and the use of money as a medium of exchange, we are attracted to the idea of holding money.
Money buys food, water, branded bags, branded cars, television, smartphones and some say elections.
Our ability to earn dictates our quality of living where small earners spend little and big ticket earners spend on big ticket items.
Having a string of digits behind the dollar sign in our bank account gives us that warm fuzzy feeling in our stomach and a peace of mind where we have enough for a rainy day.
The final consideration we have is about maximising our potential and to be able to be the best we can be.
As I sit in the toilet cubicle reflecting on life and typing out this story, I start wondering.
“Am I achieving that level of potential I deserve?”
Or at least for this moment.
I get to draft my reflection as I loosen my bowels.
I hope Maslow will be proud of me if he gets to read my story.
