Abstract

. Is it any wonder that some of those folks express a decided aversion to the fabled state of Woke, whatever that fabled state is supposed to be. But then those <a href="https://readmedium.com/you-have-a-mind-of-your-own-why-dont-you-use-it-dd05ad1d81d">folks are not allowed to think for themselves</a>. They’re necessarily obedient to the hive. I suspect they would be totally lost without the guidance of The Eye. I know I’m totally lost just trying to understand how one navigates an imaginary reality without incurring bodily harm. Even though that is an impressive skill, I do not see how it qualifies one to represent an actual reality; you know, one with consequences.</p><p id="9d46">There is an aspect of living in a pretend reality that is certainly appealing. But <a href="https://readmedium.com/horse-sen-se-8e4de14457ee">common sense</a> demands that we question our omniscience. Another way to look at this is to understand that just because Jimmy from Ohio’s mouth opens and shuts doesn’t mean it’s a prayer book. But there isn’t much confusion when we look at what Jimmy’s pattern of behavior is. He defended wrongdoing in his job as a coach and he’s continuing with his proud tradition in his current job as well. I suppose we could think of a coach as a sort of cheerleader, couldn’t we? If we listen to what Kissing says we might lose our minds, but if we watch what he does, it is all perfectly clear. He ain’t doing shit. He’s trying his damnedest to please everyone. He got the title, what else could matter?</p><p id="b442">The good news about all of this political furor is if you can keep your sense of humor it just would not be possible for a written script to be this damned entertaining. The best part is how certain celebrities address the Political Follies. When they found out that Sauron had really <a href="https://readmedium.com/my-quest-for-the-perception-of-beauty-40e7d9069d07">sensitive classified documents strewn about Maralagor</a> they were all appalled, but when Ol’ Joe was found to have been absent-minded with classified documents his own self, there was understanding and good humor all around. Except for Merrick. He just shook his head and appointed another eternally damned soul to investigate Ol’ Joe’s state of forgetfulness. Who would have ever thought that Ol’ Joe would provide cover for Sauron? If this were a fable, it would be less believable than an egg sitting on a wall that was a concern of the king’s horses and the king’s men. No one would believe such a tall tale. That would be as nonsensical as saying Kevin be nimble, Kevin be quick, Kevin jumped over the candlestick. But here we are watching a <a href="https://readmedium.com/is-the-gop-a-reality-tv-show-or-a-soap-opera-16b11da9c9d4">real reality show</a>.</p><p id="89bb">Even though the plot is unbelievable, Ol’ Joe is returning his overdue folders of classified stuff. He’s not suing the government to keep them either. But then Ol’ Joe does not suffer from self-importance. He<a href="https://readmedium.com/old-joe-aint-no-reality-tv-star-the-man-gets-s-t-done-9badd32890bc"> learned from suffering the consequences of reality</a> up close and personal. It could be that the reason Georgie lives in his imaginary world with his imaginary friends and the reason Kissing Kevin just wants the title, is because they each are just now learning a lesson that Ol’ Joe learned much earlier in life. Reality is a stern master.</p><p id="3143">Maybe all this reality denial started in the <a href="https://readmedium.com/the-blurring-of-church-and-state-a-road-map-to-theocracy-e6bae4e49163">religious requirements</a> to deliberately believe something that really did not ever make sense. I can see why religion has been necessary in human history, but we have to refine it so that it can exist in a more user-friendly form. But I do not think we are working on refining what we believe, as much as we’re taking the path of least resistance. I saw a video clip of Georgie the other day where he was recorded saying he would not leave office unless all 142,000 +/- voters who elected him de-elected him¹. Not only was he staying in office, he was going to continue to serve the people who elected him and keep all his promises to them. That reply to some reporter just before Georgie shut his office door nearly broke my head. To explain how bad it is, I’m on tilt. Google it, unless you remember pinball before pong. Every time I hear Georgie’s mouth run it’s like calculating the value of Pi. The permutations of what he might be saying are so vast as to rival sand. Concurrent with the calculations concerning Georgie’s tendency toward an unfathomable fascination with his hero, Walter Mitty, there exists another set of calculations which are even more baffling. How in the name of all that’s holy did he fool 142,000 +/- grown assed adult voters?

If I were one of those voters I’d be like, “burn him at the stake!” for about a minute. Then the next minute, he’d be closing his office door and making a three point move like he’s Steph, and I be like “damn, that was a nice fucking move.” But then on my balance scale of Be Fair and Give the Devil his Due, I always have to take note that the burning at the stake idea is closer to where the weight of it balances more than meaningless nice moves. I can see why the constituency might feel a bit fleeced, and therefore maybe even resentful or even on bad hair days, embarrassed to death that they ever heard of the silly shit.

While we’re exploring the land of truth is stranger than fiction, I need to make note of the vat of chocolate that Kissing Keven has fallen into. KK is beholden to the dogma of the MAGA version of no voter in the caucus left behind. And God knows, Kev dearly needs all the votes he can get. I don’t think we should expect Georgie to be booted out of congress by Kissing for fear of not being found worthy of being MAGA just because he dissed a R in the Party. You know that Margie is lying in wait to pounce on just such a sure sign of disloyalty to Sauron of Maralagor. No wonder “some people”are saying that the GOP stands for Grand Orc Party. Someone should look into that.

But it seems to me that Georgie and Kissing are suffering from the same viral malady. It looks like they might be practicing some primitive masculinity ritual. The rules seem to be related to the ability to ignore anything remotely connected to reality. It’s clear that Georgie is an amateur. He’s not stupid, but he is a thief. He destroys for personal benefit. Kissing on the other hand is a classic helpless victim. But the sad part of their existence is that neither one of those hapless folk can grok the concept of looking for agreement that is formed by everyone at the table getting what they need. And as when sitting at an actual table, prudence is the better part of valor.

I think it was Ecclesiastes that said there was a time for all things. It goes something like this… There’s a time to play pretend games and there’s a time to deal with reality. How is it that we as a nation do our best to ignore real events like someone running for Congress who is a figment of his own imagination, but we punish someone who insists that her eyes saw what they saw like Lizzy? But then we do have almost an entire party of people who obey all that emits from the Eye of Maralagor.
