Summary

The article discusses the recent political drama within the GOP, highlighting the dishonesty and personal ambition of figures like George Santos and Kevin McCarthy, and the broader implications of their actions on the Republican Party and American politics.

Abstract

The political landscape of the GOP is portrayed as a toxic environment filled with deceit and power struggles, as exemplified by the actions of George Santos and Kevin McCarthy. Santos is criticized for his fabricated background and disregard for truth in his quest for a Congressional seat, while McCarthy is depicted as willing to make any deal to become Speaker of the House. The article suggests that these individuals' behavior is reflective of the values of their constituencies, who seem to approve of their actions. It also questions the intelligence and integrity of the political process, given the acceptance of such behavior by both the electorate and the media. The author argues for higher political standards and criticizes the ongoing attention given to baseless claims and destructive political theater.

George Santos and Kissing Kevin have something in common. Neither one has any respect for truth. I’m not sure that truth can be easily defined simply because truth is always dependent on context. But if we look at the context of Georgie’s great adventure to arrive at the Congress of the United States, we can see that the only thing that mattered to him was to arrive. He did not care how or what it might cost him. He merely wanted to get there. Kissing is behaving exactly the same. Kissing did not care what he had to do to arrive at Speaker of the House. He could make any deal as long as the result was he became Speaker. Both men justified their dishonesty because of personal ambition. Neither man can be trusted, therefore.

Over the past week or so, writers of soap operas the world over developed debilitating pain in their wrists from way too much note-taking. You can not make up what took place on the floor of the House over that time period. You had Georgie sitting there all alone and, believe it or not, Kissing was doing the exact same thing. The only difference, really, was that Kissing basked in the undying love of Margie, who understands Kissing perfectly well. It was the first time since she arrived in Washington that she was not sitting alone and talking to herself, which made her a perfect support personage for Kissing. Georgie was not as fortunate. No one wanted to acknowledge his existence. I guess he was, in Britney’s words, Toxic. For a while there I was pretty sure that Kissing and Matty were going to go to fisticuffs over Margie. You had to kind of feel for Matty because his girl was clearly moving up and leaving him behind. You can’t really blame Matty for having a spat of jealousy because he stood by her during her darkest hours of total rejection. But then Matty was not the only person on the floor who was feeling rejected. Mountain Lauren was obviously feeling as jilted as Matty because Margie had abandoned her for Kissing. Matty was so jealous that he even defied the Dark Lord of the Manor. Mountain told the Dark Lord that he was just wrong about Matty because, apparently Matty had dibs on Margie since she was getting divorced and all. But poor Matty just does not have the power boost that Kissing does and Margie is all about power. What’s a poor girl to do?

As entertaining as this alley of clowns is, they still are representative of what the people in their respective constituency actually are. I know, no one wants to hear that, but it is true. People in Margie’s district back in Georgia are supportive of her brand of kink. They have to like that she says stupid things and does her best to show how powerful she is by attempting to destroy the government like she’s a three year old who has overpowered her mom and is indulged in all behaviors. Matt’s constituency has to consider him as a boy being a boy. Kissing’s constituency obviously does not want him to have an opinion about anything that might offend someone. Even Georgie’s constituency elected him. No one in Long Island has the ability to fact check lies it would appear. Each of these folks were elected by people who approved of their behaviors. At least the majority of the voting public thought these folks were as politically pretty as they could possibly be. It does wonder me as to what their constituencies used as a metric to come to those conclusions…

I think at this point it would be good to review a word definition. “Stupid” can be defined as the behavior of a person who is destructive but who gains no value from his destructiveness. What value did Matty gain from taking his Never Kissing stand? How did that stand benefit the people of Florida? How does Margie sidling up to Kissing help the people of Georgia? For that matter how does the Dark Lord of Mar a Lago benefit the general population by claiming he won an election that was decided two years ago? There can not be any benefit to the populace with that claim. So by definition His Dark Lordness is a stupid man. He may have done things that benefited a certain class of person, but overall his stupidity has been on full display for the last six years.

Now we have the same stupidness being practiced in Brazil. I can understand that acting like an American is a popular pastime in the world, but we Americans really need to up our political standards so we are not electing Margies, Matties, Georgies, or Kissings. That we fucked up and elected the Dark Guy can be forgiven if we could only get over him. That would be lots easier if the media would discontinue its program of giving credit to stupidity. Every day someone is reporting as though the ravings of a mad man are important..

Look, The Dark Guy stole classified documents, he did his best and is still doing his best to rouse his rabble of people who can not think for themselves. I do not understand how people who do not even understand why a voting machine, which is not connected to the internet, is safer than a paper ballot all by itself. Voting machines have to have a paper back up. All votes are therefore checked and rechecked as carefully as a bank teller checks deposits and withdrawals. If one has confidence in the bank, then why wouldn’t you have confidence in a vote tally? If a bank says you have insufficient funds you can go to the bank and check, but they are not going to allow you into the area behind the tellers so you can see if they’re counting your money correctly. When you check your balance on your mobile bank app you can pretty much rely on the accuracy of the numbers you encounter. How is counting votes all that much different? No one actually believes the Dark Guy about his voter fraud claims. And no one really supports the idea of violent revolution.

When I see violence erupting on the floor of the House of Representatives over jealousy, I have to wonder how and why that level of destruction is taking place. Does this mean that there are pockets of the US population who, for unfashionable reasons, cannot remember behavior for a whole two years? Does this mean that people in those pockets are just inherently stupid? Does this mean that people in those pockets lack a basic education about how government works? How about they just think they’d like to do a sojourn within a strong man dictatorship? What the freedom caucus is advertising seems to be more depraved than even a dictatorship.

Consider for a moment that Jimmy from Ohio is about to chair a committee that wants to investigate Dr. Fauci for decades of work with viruses. But they do not want to investigate The Dark Lord for causing an attempted coup. They want to investigate the workings of the FBI and other law enforcement agencies but not the fact that armed militia have presented themselves in various state capitals. This must be curtailed. I can not believe that adult politicians can possibly see a benefit in allowing anyone with an automatic rifle to stand around any public place intimidating law makers. Behavior such as intimidation is just stupid. It destroys integrity and nothing is gained in return. We can do better, don’t you think?

One way to think about how your mind works is to consider it as a biocomputer. It has an operating system and different types of applications and programs that run when called, in similar fashion to a regular computer. The results of this workshop will give you new ways to consider your own beliefs, emotions, feelings and logical thoughts and how you can choose to modify them to meet your own requirements.

The workshop combines a series of on-demand videos with group discussions. Program Theory is taught by John Worthington and Paul Grenci. Contact @forgingagreement on Facebook or Instagram or email [email protected] for more information!

The most recent online Reality Creation Through the Dyad Workshop has just wrapped up. The Dyad workshop is an exploration into the relationship that exists between two people- any two people. In this interactive workshop, couples/individuals are afforded the opportunity to examine ever so common problems and tried and true solutions that guarantee an ongoing relationship if one is warranted.

This workshop will be happening on a monthly basis and runs over 2 weeks of 4 consecutive evenings. Contact @forgingagreement on Facebook or Instagram or email [email protected] for more information!
