Life Is a Combination Of Visiting Heaven And Hell On The Same Day.
You know, Life is pretty good if we had a bad day. Completely. At least there isn’t any emotional roller-coaster. I figured that we can cope with bad days. The most exciting ones that I wouldn’t want to experience daily … is visiting Heaven in the morning, dropping by Hell in the afternoon, and then Mars in the evening.

Today is another one of those. A high in the morning, an extreme low in the afternoon, followed by a realization of work not done. The best part was the uncanny resemblance with yesterday.
We will stick to today.
This morning was a 4-hour long Year-End Mega Show for my Live-Stream, commemorating 40 episodes on diverse topics as well as a conclusion to 2020.
It was a way to end the year on a light note, where our community could have something to look forward to at the end of the year. A little sparkle lights up the deep end of the tunnel.
We had a blast. The viewership was the highest we have experienced, and I was happily smashing my keyboard replying to every single comment on Linkedin, Facebook, YouTube, Twitter.
Mind you — We were streaming live.
It was a brilliant way to give back to our community.
The end of the 4-hour show landed me at 12 noon in my time-zone.
By then, my smartphone was tired of buzzing. I rushed through my lunch after checking through all email notifications. Murphy’s Law will always strike you unawares.
It turns out that the bookkeeper in one of my businesses used a different functional currency for the year-end budgeting exercise. I was shocked when I saw the symbol. As the currency is not widely used for transactions, we would incur FOREX transaction costs up to 1.5% on every $1 spent, 0.5% more relative to the home currency.
For some reason, the Chief Financial Officer didn’t catch it either. It was a mad rush trying to rescind the numbers and converting them back to the home currency. And we ran a check through for all budgeting numbers again.
Just in case.
If you think that budgeting exercise is painful, try to redo it within 1.5 hours. I felt as if I had lived an effective 2-years within that time frame.
We salvaged that.
And I wanted to take a break before the next meeting. My mental muscle was too tensed, and I needed a logical break.
My itchy fingers started going on YouTube to search for the Livestream video clip. I wanted to take a break and review the video quality.
And then, I see this.
“The Video is no longer available.”.
I was like … what happened?
I sent a text via What’s App to my Co-Founder based in the United States. As we had a 14-hour time difference, he saw my message during my evening.
He went to check. The response was another heart-breaking, earth-shattering moment.
“You know, the music that was used for deejaying in-between segment transitions? We didn’t mention the Copyright. Our Live-Stream video was taken down for that reason.”.
I have had at least 15 hours of work in me for the day. I was no longer surprised by a string of unfortunate events.
However.
Life doesn’t always torment you. They do give us a break.
I was out having dinner, and I am blessed with a quiet dinner time. There were no messages, no emails, no social media notifications, no urgent calls, nothing.
It was pure bliss in normalcy.
On crazy days like this, that moment was much desired and appreciated.
I will take it for today. Yes, I am blessed.
Have A Pleasant Day!
