I’ve Been Waiting All Along For You

I have watched the way you’ve always been In the sound of your voice, in the sound of your footsteps I have listened to you for so long I can’t remember what it sounds like not to hear you But I’m standing now at this threshold and am beginning to suspect that if there is a storm, it’s inside of me And though I know that you’re coming, I’m no longer choosing just how loudly I scream I’ve been waiting for the right time to drown out the sound of my silence To fill my lungs with a tide of words so that when you arrive, there will be no more doubt.
The day you come will be the day I stop being poetically ambiguous I will wear my heart like a crown, and I’ll hold it out until you’ve claimed every last inch of it But until then, I’d rather stand here all alone than share even the smallest part of me Even the tiniest secret must remain locked within me.
And if the silence that burns inside me is, in fact, a storm Then I will stand here calmly and gladly allow it to consume me entirely I’ve never been one to stand still as my life passes me by, and I’ve never been one to care what others think of me And because of this, I know that whatever happens when you finally arrive, my life will be complete.

My little apocalypse will have come and gone, and I will have been shown a world that was inside me all along. I will be able to breathe once more, to scream and cry, to feel something other than this silent fear that I’m slowly becoming. And because I know in my heart that what comes after is nothing but pure peace. I am willing and ready to welcome you here today.

Poetry is everywhere 💚 But the question is, how much do you love it?
How I’m Using Poetry To Identify Myself And Change The Way, I Think The word “poetic” has several meanings. People often use it to refer to something like “fine art.” Others use it to refer to literature or poetry. And still, others see it as an attitude that seems profound, inspiring, or even mysterious. Regardless of its intended meaning, however, the word “poetry” is so closely linked with the idea of “orality” that I need to identify and understand how I use poetry in my writing process.
Thank you Richard S Moreland for becoming a member of the community, All it takes is a little help to make a big difference. You are great at showing people how they can change,by leading them gently into the right direction. Your writings are really something special and I wish you all the best.
