Opinions

This is the only poem I have ever written just for you And it makes perfect sense that it’s not great at all It starts when you say “goodbye” to all your friends and just when I think it’s over, you say, “come in.”
“Thank you.” You smile Wiping your tears, you walk over to me and say “let’s do this right.” When I say, “Is that alright with you?” You pull my hand and say, “Let’s start.”. People say it’s confusing. It’s not. It’s perfect for me. “I’ll continue” I’m not sure what I did in the first place to deserve this. “you’re my favorite.” So I look at you and start over. I don’t know what I did in the first place to deserve this. “I’ll always love you.” So I look at you and start over… “Even when you don’t love me anymore.” And keep trying until it’s perfect for me. “I’ll always love you.” And you’ll keep trying until it’s perfect for me.
the emptiness is a hole we can’t see, and so we fill it with the salt and the vinegar and the pepper of our flesh stirring with a heavy hand
but it tastes too sour, even when we swallow hard and try to forget what is missing.
Poetry is everywhere 💚 But the question is, how much do you love it?
