It’s a Great Thing You Feel Like An Outsider. Here Are 3 Reasons Why

You were never supposed to fit in so stop trying

1. Freedom to Be You

If you’re in touch with your spiritual side, it is only natural that you’ll feel displaced in this world.

We’re taught that being an outsider is a terrible thing. We are taught that it’s best if we fit in nicely with the crowd and live life the same way everybody lives it — arrive on earth, get an education, get a job, get a partner, have some kids, and then leave the earth.

But there comes a time in our life when we find that’s not working very well. Life has got to be more than that. Fitting in and trying to play by the rules starts to feel like a miserable craziness, not to mention boring as hell.

So we think and think of ways to escape that boring misery and then we’re met with a spiritual awakening. We are shown that life is more than that boring cycle and that we could have so much more. We’re shown glimpses of what’s possible and so we go down the rabbit hole and everything changes. We change and start to feel like an outsider because we no longer fit in.

But being an outsider is to your advantage if you want to experience something extraordinary.

Being an outsider means you’re awake to something that society is asleep to. The fact that you feel like an outsider shows that your soul is trying to guide you towards something different.

You’ve been given the space to create a life that feels good on a soul level.

As an outsider, you have the freedom to listen to your own inner guidance and to the voice of your intuition that will ultimately lead you where you’re meant to go.

When you’re walking with the crowd, you’re bound to get distracted or, even worse, lost. When you’re on the outside of the crowd looking in, you’re no longer brainwashed and constrained by the rigid and boring rules of the crowd, aka society.

On the outside, you easily see through the lies, the illusions and the delusions. You see it all so clearly and you can live your life in a way you could never do, fitting in with the herd.

We are souls in a human body and the soul is the ultimate guide. When you walk alone, you can focus on listening to the guidance of your soul instead of the chatter of a society that is lost.

Being an outsider is a spiritual path.

When you find yourself on the outside, you can pave new ways that haven’t been walked before. You can pave new ways for others to walk in.

You get to be a way-shower helping those who are lost to find their way.

It’s an honor to be chosen for that role. Embrace it.

2. You Become An Observer

If you’ve felt like an outsider for most of your life, you are almost certainly a very spiritual person. That should tell you something. It’s all part of a much bigger plan, but it may not always feel like that.

Being an outsider looking in comes with the feeling that something is not quite right. When you can’t relate to the people around you, it’s a crushing feeling. No matter how much you try to fit in with others, that feeling of being an outsider always seems to be on the back of your mind.

The end result of this unsettling feeling is that you don’t feel seen for who you truly are. Deep down we know you’re a good person and yet still you don’t feel heard. When this goes on for too long, you don’t even feel safe enough to let your true self be seen out of fear that you’ll be outcasted.

But this is not on you.

It’s hard to feel seen when people don’t meet your deep soul needs. You don't want the small talks; you crave a connection as deep as the ocean. You crave deep conversations about the universe, not the weather. You want more and the things people want to talk about — celebrity gossip and fear-based stories — all feel shallow and unsatisfying.

And on the outside, you can see it all so clearly.

On the outside, you can observe the world and the way they live their lives. This gives you so much wisdom and insight into certain things. It helps you understand things better.

And not only that.

You develop greater compassion for society despite everything. You see that most people are lost in the crowd doing the best they can with what they've been fed with.

As an outsider, you’re among the fortunate ones. You’re amongst the chosen ones. Don't feel bad for being a free spirit. Be proud of it.

On the outside, you can observe the world and the way they live their lives, and this gives you so much wisdom and insight into certain things.

3. You Have a Chance At True Happiness

Before you learn that being an outsider is part of your destiny, you’ll often wonder what’s wrong with you. You’ll feel strange, weird and so different.

Until you learn that your life has a greater purpose, you may go through an existential crisis where you question everything and this life you’re living. For some, life may feel like an ongoing existential crisis where you’re always asking why and never getting an answer.

All you ever wanted is to be happy.

All you ever search for is somewhere you can call home, where you can take the mask off and just be yourself without anyone looking at you like a weird object.

But there’s a reason for everything.

You are not here by accident and there is nothing wrong with you. There’s everything wrong with society for making you feel that way.

No matter what you feel about yourself, you are privileged to be an outsider.

This place is not your home. Your true home is some place glorious and here? You’re only here to do important work and you’ll go back home before you know it. Until then, being an outsider is your greater purpose.

Being an outsider is a blessing in disguise. It’s something to feel good deep inside about. It’s the path your soul has chosen for you.

Be happy by yourself.

By yourself, you can discover what being true to yourself really means. When you walk in your path without trying to fit in, you can learn to find fulfilment with yourself. When you do that, you evolve your soul and ascend into higher consciousness.

In solitude, you can master yourself and then the world. You will self-actualize into the best version of yourself.

When you get to this stage, how could you not be happy?

Although it can be lonely and isolating, being on the outside is a powerful position to be in. You’re among the few that get to find your soul’s purpose and the true meaning of life.

There’s so much potential in this sacred path. Don’t let anyone make you feel bad for being great.
