3 Things Free Spirits Do Differently Than Others

They know how easy it is to get trampled on walking with the herd

1. They Love Being Outside of The Crowd

You won’t find a free-spirited person mingling with the crowd or walking amidst the herd. You will catch them standing outside of the crowd. You’ll find them watching the herd. They know how easy it is to get lost in the crowd. They've seen how easy it is to get trampled on by the herd.

Their rightful place is outside. Outside of the crowd. Out from the herd. Outside of the room. Out in nature. Outside of the box.

When they’re outside, they can breathe better. They can observe better. They can help those who need help. They can be free to go where they want but others will not understand it.

A free spirit will not conform to the expectations of other people. They won’t do what others want them to. The decisions they make will not follow what other people usually do.

Society will probably think they’re weird, but they see absolutely nothing wrong with the term. It’s their weirdness that makes them cool.

They’re eccentric and unconventional. They don’t live by the rules of society or go down the path everyone takes. They do what they want when they want to and go where they want when they want to.

This is not because they’re rebels or renegades, but rather because they are their own people. They’re sufficient for themselves even if society rejects them.

They reject societal norms and popular opinions. They reject silly trends because following trends means they’re not really free to do their own thing. Their own thing is what they do best.

They create their own rules and go down the path less traveled. Then they create new paths for others to walk in.

They don’t follow trends, but that doesn’t mean they don’t like trends. They love trends so much that they set them.

Free spirits are the trend-setters and the way-showers. They’re the ones paving ways where there was no way.

2. They Need Freedom Like They Need Air

Freedom is the life force of a free spirit. Take away their freedom and you take away their life force. They’ll suffocate. They won’t be able to breathe.

Strict schedules are like poison for their souls and boring routines are like toxins to their spirits.

A free spirit will not work a traditional 9–5 job. They may do it as they find their purpose, but it won’t be for too long.

It's not uncommon to see free-spirits become self-employed as they enjoy the freedom that comes from working for themselves. They can achieve more when they work for themselves.

Because free-spirits take the road less traveled to pave new ways for others to follow, they’re natural-born leaders. You’ll see them in artistic careers society will initially warn them against, like teaching, hairstyling, graphic designing, blogging, photography, chefs, coaching, painting, musicians, etc. These kinds of careers give them the freedom to live their life on their own terms. It gives them all the time in the world to explore and go on fun adventures.

These folks live for adventure. For that reason, you'll find many of them traveling the world and visiting new places. As they travel, they learn new things from different people and places, which helps them grow and evolve on a soul level.

They love roaming the earth and are content flying solo if that’s what it takes. When they go solo, they can go as fast or as slow as they want.

3. They Fearlessly Pursue Their Life’s Purpose

Free spirits are fearless. Fear is not a huge factor in their life.

They aren’t afraid to pursue their big dreams, insane goals, intense passions and soul missions that seem way too big and crazy to others. They know they can do anything because they are big on life. They have big, open minds and hearts that take them where others can only dream of.

This is not to say that free-spirits have no fears. Of course, they do, but they have even bigger faiths that override their fears. They don’t allow fear to hold them back from anything.

They go after what they want. They see fear as an invitation to break through barriers and unlock hidden potentials.

Also — They Wear What They Want

Free spirits are eccentrics. They are trendsetters. They’re secretly the fashion designers. They are the ones creating fashion trends for the world to follow.

They use their freedom, creativity and artistic sense to choose their outfit without being bound by current fashion trends.

They wear what they want when they want to. Bold colors don’t intimidate them. Flamboyance doesn’t scare them. Their outfits call out to them and they go with it.

They don’t care how they look to others. They care less what others think of what they wear. They aren’t materialistic. They aren’t driven by external forces, but an inner drive to live a life of meaning and fulfilment.

As long as what they’re wearing feels good on them, they will walk out in them with their head held high. They’ll walk out with a walk that says they feel on top of the world and will conquer anything!
