I Killed My Perfection Habit To Be Able To Write More
Don’t try to make everything perfect
One of the destructive habits I had in my entrepreneurship was “perfection”. I used to make things perfect before making them public. I used to not publish any of my stories on medium when it’s not perfect in my mind. Even if they are perfect but if I am not seeing them perfect, I won’t publish them.
My perfection habit has not only affected me in writing on Medium. It has also affected me in many other fields like freelancing, youtube, print-on-demand, etc.
It doesn’t let me do anything. Even I was not able to write more because I always find my stories imperfect.
But now, I am writing two stories every. I have also written five stories in a single day. And this is all because I killed my perfection habit.
Now I don’t think about anything too much. I write a story and check it once for grammatical or spelling errors. And after that, I press the publish button. I don’t think about it so much.
Perfection is a good habit, it will help you in many places. But you should not be perfect everywhere because perfection can also stop you from achieving your goals.
In my entrepreneurial journey, perfection had stopped me from making money online. It was my goal to make money online and I completed it by writing on Medium. But you know it took me more than 5 years to earn money online.
But I made some money because I killed two of my most bad habits. One is perfection and the other is learning.
