Today, we will talk about earning money from your headlines. So, is it possible to earn money from just the headline? — directly “NO” but indirectly “YES”.
You can earn money by writing a better headline, but it doesn’t mean that the content is not important. If you write a better headline but the content is shit, no one is gonna read it. Although, if you have a better story but it's not getting much attention, then you should try re-uploading it with a better headline.
I am so sure about this because I have acquired some experience by writing for more than half a year on Medium.
Some days ago, one of my stories went semi-viral and made $10 in just eight days. I know it’s not that much but most of the money is made in the last three days. Before that, it has not even earned two dollars.

This story made money because of its headline. It was a story about my monthly income report. I write an income report story at the end of every month but none got so much attention.
But this was the story with a better headline, that helped it go viral. I could have written it like “January Income Report” or something like this. But I wanted to make it different from the other income report stories. And thought about changing its headline to “This Is How Much Money I Made From 30 Stories in 31 Days”. And luckily, it worked.
So, what does this all mean? — It means that the headline is the door to your story. And you should spend a lot of time making it beautiful and attractive.
Without a better and more attractive headline, your best story is like it’s buried in the ground. Because no one knows what’s inside the story.
A headline is the decision-making point for the reader to either read your story or not. And luckily, you have the control to write a better headline. If your story has a better and more appealing headline that the readers love. Then no platform or algorithm can stop your story from going viral.
