Update [2021]: How to Lose 20 Pounds in a Month Without Exercise a Twitter Thread
My most viral story in a series of tweets.
You can read my updated article on how to lose 20 pounds in 30 days here.
The Ultimate Guide to Lose 20 Pounds in 30 Days or Less You Can Start Doing Today In [2021]
I am fat, and I have no excuse.
When I wrote the story — How to Lose 20 Pounds in 30 Days without Exercise like Tim Ferris, I never thought it would resonate with many readers.
To date, it has earned me $246.00, and month after month, it still attracts readers.

I wrote it on July 12, a week after my birthday, and like many, I have been gaining weight from inactivity, but a big part of it, I attribute to my "grief bacon."
I was eating my grief away. My grief has turned into a “kummerspeck.”
Comfort eating is a staple of the human experience. The Germans (of course) have the perfect word to describe the excess fat you gain from emotional overeating: Kummerspeck.
Kummerspeck is a compound noun composed of Kummer (grief) and Speck (bacon, or lard), which translates literally as grief bacon.
In my vulnerability, I decided to plan how to lose weight, and what I learned from the past because this isn't the first time I gained and lost weight is where I got my inspiration to write about it.
But is it possible to lose weight in 30 days without exercise?
It happened to me before when I was very much into the keto diet, and as far as 2017, Tim Ferriss wrote about it — How to lose 20 lbs. Of fat in 30 days without doing any exercise.
Not only was I sharing a personal experience, but I also shared actionable steps to achieve weight loss.
I even used my own photo, instead of using a stock photo.

It went viral- Losing weight remains a personal issue to a lot of people.
It took a week before I noticed a spike in readership until it got to over 2,000 views, with close to 1,000 reads.
By the end of July, it was my best-performing story, and it was self-published.
And for the first time, my MPP (Medium Partner Program) monthly earnings reached $245.51, and after the long wait, I got the good news that I did qualify for the top bonus of $500.
My July MPP earnings — $745.51 was the most money I received as a writer. I am very grateful and that I can only whisper to the Universe,
And if it resonated with readers, I would like to share it on Twitter. I have over 1,660 followers on Twitter.
Since it is a long post, I have to divide it into 280 characters which is the limit for a tweet.
Luckily, I remembered writing about it on The Startup — How to get started with content syndication on Twitter, and in it, there is a tool that can make it easy for you to create tweets out of a long article.
Let me introduce you to Typefully.app — Write & publish great tweets, without distractions. It was number 3 on the product of the day list at Producthunt when it first went live on December 9, 2020.
You can get Typefully here. ( Full disclosure: I’m not in any way affiliated with Mailbrew, the company behind typefully.app.)
