How Building Muscle changed my Life

Hitting the gym led to crazy effects for me

It is a disgrace to grow old through the sheer carelessness before seeing what manner of man you may have become by developing your bodily strength and beauty to their highest limit- Socrates

Well said, Bro.

I can only agree with Socrates.

In this article, I would like to share my personal experience with the effects of muscle building on different parts of my life.

In my youth, I was very ambitious in endurance sports, which made me quite skinny. After I had to quit my career, I started working hard on my body in the gym.

With very good success. I was able to gain 10 lbs of muscle mass within a few months and increase my record in the bench press from 180 lbs to 220lbs. My arms and chest got thicker and my back got wider.

But the biggest change came in the following areas.

1. My confidence skyrocketed

I felt strong. And that made me confident. I was no longer more skinny than pretty much every other man I faced. Knowing that I was in good shape and looked good without a shirt made me feel good about myself at the pool and also made me more confident when interacting with girls. I felt more attractive myself and so I was less nervous and became braver and more outgoing. Probably the increased confidence made me much more attractive than the physical change alone. But it was definitely the trigger.

It was a true game-changer.

2. I got respect from other guys

How we look determines how we are perceived by others and therefore how others behave towards us. I noticed that clearly with other guys. They had more respect for me and gave me compliments. It is easier to be disrespectful towards a skinny and weak-looking guy. In case of need, you are stronger anyway. A strong-looking guy makes you feel different. Being able to defend yourself, or at least look like you can, is incredibly powerful. Of course, this effect also fueled my self-confidence. When you get jacked, it creates a positive feedback loop, so to speak.

3. Curls for the Girls

I have the feeling that I seemed more attractive to girls. No wonder, because science proves that a strong body is more attractive than a very thin one. In this article, I have described in more detail which male body type is the most attractive.

Of course, my increased success with girls may also have been due to my confidence. In fact, I’m pretty sure it is.

Nevertheless, I can confirm the saying:

More plates, more dates
