How Bill Gates made his fortune.
I Want to write to this article my opinion about bill gates and how he made his fortune, with Microsoft and his life, the pillars that helped him achieve that goal.
He started from the early beginning.
One key to his success was that he was fortunate enough to start an early age. He hasn’t lost any time to start doing what he wanted.
Now how he achieved that? And others can do the same?
Read & Books.
He was reading a lot, not many people do. The books and reading help you to structure :
- Your Knowledge
- Your Mind
He was getting accumulated wisdom continuously from other people and external stimulations.
He already knew from the first moment what he wanted to do in his life and what he wanted to achieve. (Other people can’t even choose what to eat for dinner) so understand that it’s crucial.
Knowledge is power.
It’s potential power if you don’t know how to use it.
One of my professors at the university said :
(Having possession of the book doesn’t mean you possess the knowledge of the book)
You must first read it, and not only read it once. You have to read twice, at least! Make notes in the book and take notes to the paper.
All this reading trained Bill Gates to become what he now can — Read 150 Pages in an hour and memorize almost 90% of them.
Not many people can do that.
Friends & Family.
Having good friends in his life helped him to achieve what he wanted. I’m sure, and he believes the same as me, that if he didn’t have those people in his life, he wouldn’t make it. From an early age, making code at school. Starting Microsoft, even now with the foundation, if he didn’t have Melinda, i don’t believe he could make it, no matter what his potential and knowledge.
(I can go in detail who and when helped him with what. But all of those exist on the internet it’s easy to find)
Then its the family. I believe, and again I think he thinks the same as me. That if he didn’t have those parents which he has. I’m sure he couldn’t make it.
Suppose we start from the beginning. We will begin to that:
Raised him well.With ethical values, with respect and honor as a child.
They taught him the right stimulants, how to pursue his goals, make his opinions right with ethics. His behavior, and then all those values changed and became better with the books.
Then he had his mother who assisted him at the beginning regarding his early entrepreneurship.
I’m sure after that, his father, as a lawyer, helped him to make the right legal choices. I’m sure that he helped him sustain the company when his enemies tried to put him down.
- Let us imagine you have one company, and someone comes to threaten you and go and take what you obtained. The first person you will turn yourself most likely is your parents.
(I Will pass out that his parents had money too, or that he went to Harvard. Many kids have parents with money and going to Havard, they don’t become millionaires) it is not essential.
The importance is the right path.
Bill Gates parents helped him to adjust his compass pointing north (toward his goal)
And he achieved that with books and friends and family, education and knowledge.
Organization & Productivity.
Having all of those, don’t help you to achieve what he did.
You must be very persuasive and organized enough!
Bill Gates was organized enough to close himself in a room for a week and start making the code for Microsoft.
Here comes the part that friends help him to achieve his goals like Paul Allen.
He didn’t stop there.
Working day & night.
I think he said
Quote: he never had a vacation for 30 years.
Now, if you want to be a billionaire, how you think you will achieve it?
He was trying to make the right choices, and when he didn’t, he learned from his mistakes. When he made a mistake, i assume his parents and friends were beside him to help fix the problem (now how? only he, knows, but I’m sure he always had them accompanying his journey)
Then his wife Melinda helped him to make the foundation. Do you think he could make it alone?
But he was fortunate enough to find a partner that she was well organized and productive as him.
She started working for Microsoft.
Imagine is like you start working for google right now or Facebook put yourself in this situation? I can’t.
Consistency
He is consistent. He doesn’t give up!
Even now, at this age, he’s still learning.
He even has a youtube channel that recommends books and people to see, know, and follow.
Dedication
He has a dedication to what he does.
He devotes himself to the thing he wants to achieve.
He does not align with his goal.
Those, I believe, are the fundamental of Bill Gates.
If you start to absorb some of them for your life (i do not say you will be a billionaire), but they will help you make the right choices and help you find the right path for your life, what you want to achieve, and be remembered.
Even if you are remembered in your family, it is vital! You don’t need the world to know you.
