Hey Soldier, You’ve Been Asleep for Far Too Long

It’s time to seize the reins of your life so that the world doesn’t suck

There’s no fulfillment in stagnation.

There’s no comfort in mediocrity.

There’s no honor in shrinking away from your potential, shrinking to make others feel good about themselves, placing a lid over your jar, preventing your flower from growing.

There’s no dignity in accepting where you currently are and going through the motions.

There’s no power in doubting yourself.

There’s no strength in quitting on the things that make you feel most alive.

It’s time to seize the day, seize the moment, seize your life.

It’s time to change and actually do so.

It’s time to apply the things you’ve learned.

You have to make a decision. A real decision. Not one that you will back away from.

It has to be serious this time.

Make a decision. Decide what you want. Decide what you’re going to focus on. Decide what this means for you. List out all of the bullshit excuses you tell yourself for why you can’t do it.

List out all the ways you can head toward your goal and do something about it today.

Tony Robbins says “Never leave the sight of a goal without taking action toward it now”. He also says that “Something undisturbed won’t move”.

It’s likely that you clicked on this article because you are disturbed. It’s likely that you need a pep talk. Well, here it is.

As crazy as this sounds, it’s true: You have to believe you can do it.

If there is any shred of doubt that says you can’t, then you won’t.

The beauty of life is that it is more malleable than you think.

You have more control than you think (which can either be a curse or a blessing).

You don’t have to hit rock bottom to change, but you damn sure have to be disturbed with where you are.

The honest truth is that humans aren’t interesting, and what makes the world a better place are those few extraordinary ones that actually are.

The world needs your best you. It’s useless without your best you. You’re useless without being your best you.

Your current lot in life is a direct reflection of the standards you’ve accepted for yourself. Raise the bar. It’s time to move.

As harsh as it sounds, if you make it to the end of this thing with a mountain of regret for things you didn’t act on, you’ve failed.

Recognize the power of the present moment.

Forget the past, you can only learn from it, not change it. Envision the future, get excited, and then get to work. Any change in your life will stem from the decisions you decide to make now.

Where you currently are in life is a sum of all the decisions you’ve made up until this point. You know how powerful decisions are, so why not use them to your advantage?

Why not respect yourself? Why not do those things you need to do, the things you want to do?

You have to become a person you can trust. You have to become a person you take seriously.

The person you should care most about disappointing is yourself. If you don’t care about disappointing yourself, if you don’t care about not keeping your own word and commitment to yourself, then you will never actualize your wildest dreams.

If you can go through life ignoring what you want most, ignoring that calling that beckons at you through the wind, then you don’t stand a chance. Forget about change. Forget about potential. Forget about your dreams.

The point of life is to grow. You feel fulfilled when you grow. If you aren’t growing, you’re dying.

The point of life is to do everything in your power to make sure your dreams don’t remain dreams.

It’s time to create some realities. It’s time to start working now.

Life is shorter than you think, and we aren’t coming back. At least not here.

The world needs your best you.
