How to Ensure Your Knowledge Goes Nowhere

Stop reading

Stop reading. Start doing.

Stop absorbing. Start implementing.

We are really good at “information-taking.”

We aren’t good at “application” and “integration.”

There’s nothing wrong with self-help. There’s nothing wrong with wanting to improve your life. There’s nothing wrong with constantly feeding your mind with positive or deep thinking.

Self-improvement calibrates you to constantly be aware of the life you are living now. Once you start on this journey, you can’t get off. And that’s a good thing.

Whether you try to ignore it or not, all the things you should be thinking about have been brought to the forefront of your mind, and you are now forced to evaluate if the choices you are making are heading in the direction you want to go.

People have a problem with the regurgitation of information when it comes to self-help. My stance is simple: The reason why you keep seeing the same information over and over again is because it works.

As Jim Rohn said, “Success leaves clues.”

Maybe one day you’ll start implementing the strategies and tools that successful people tell you. Don’t wait 20 years to regret having not done the things you claim to “already know what to do.”

Stop absorbing information that you have no intent on applying.

Once you start to implement what you take in, your life will actually change.

Once you get serious and make a decision about what you are going to focus on, your life will actually change.

Once you start believing, without a doubt that you are capable, that this is all possible, your life will change.

The reality is that the world needs your best you. Not your average. Not your worst. Your best.

All of the problems with the world can probably be boiled down to tons of people who are giving it their worst.

Aim, then shoot. The purpose of the aiming is to make sure you are shooting in the direction you intend to shoot at.

There’s no power in having no purpose. There’s no fulfillment in the avoidance of progress. Grow and contribute.

Success “secrets” aren’t secrets anymore. Sadly, lack of application puts this mysterious veil over personal growth information.

People have a tendency to treat things they avoid as something worth avoiding. More often than not, people are the worst judges of what to avoid.

People tend to do things they mean to avoid all the time, why not do it with something positive? Why not do it with something that is trying to help you improve your life?

That’s right. I’m telling you to drink the tea. Get motivated. Get inspired. It won’t last, but at least you’ll start becoming aware of the unactualized life you aren’t living.

Start caring about not being useless.

Start applying the information you learn to actually see if it works. If you are going into something thinking “this will change my life”, placing all the power within the information you are absorbing, then it won’t change your life.

If you go in with the mindset that you are going to do something about what you are taking in––if not for anything else but to prevent wasting your own time––then you will change.
