Hey, Are You Drowned by Criticisms? Read This!
I hold this quote deep in my heart

There are days when I feel down. You know those days where comments sound like criticisms and everything just feels negative? Yeah, that is the feeling. It feels as if the ENTIRE WORLD is against me. It doesn’t happen daily, but when it does, the knife stabs deep.
In times like this, I look for emotional strength. This quote from Theodore Roosevelt gives me the strength to keep going.
“It is not the critic who counts. … The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena; whose face is marred by the dust and sweat and blood; who strives valiantly … who, at worst, if he fails, at least fails while daring greatly; so that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who know neither victory or defeat.”
I will read it over and over because it gives me strength. And indeed, it gives me a strong jab in my arm when I need it most. When I feel silly or stupid because I did things wrong or in an unappreciated way, this is how I reconcile with myself.
“The reason you are criticized is that you are working, man. You are working.”
The moment I start thinking that way, I see the long-term perspective. If we commit to work to our best and work hard, we are bound to have those who cheer and those who jeer. It is just life.
So long as people are talking about us, good or bad, it means one thing. We are in the spotlight because we work our ass off to get there.
There is no shame.
And we should pat ourselves on the back.
