Hackers Have Leaked Insomniac Games’ Future Projects
Information on Insomniac’s Spider-Man and Wolverine games has been leaked.

I’ve talked about all sorts of Insomniac stuff in past stories, and you can find those linked at the end of this one. But right now, I wanna dive into the leak that went down at Insomniac Games and spill the beans on what info got out.
Insomniac, the brains behind Marvel’s Spider-Man, got hit by hackers who demanded a whopping $2 million in Bitcoin to keep their mitts off secret stuff. But when Sony said no way to pay up, these hackers spilled the beans anyway.
Cyber Daily spilled the tea on this, saying Rhysida, the ransomware squad, dropped a massive 1.67 terabytes of data online. We’re talking sneak peeks of the new game Marvel’s Wolverine, a contract signed by Marvel and Sony for future gigs, and unfortunately some personal staff information.
It’s all out there, from early Wolverine footage to the game’s cast, storylines, locations, and even a build of the game itself. Insomniac’s plans up until 2033? Yup, spilled too. Sony and Insomniac have been tight-lipped about this online mayhem.
Okay, so here’s the dish from the breach: a sneak peek at Insomniac’s gaming schedule. Brace yourselves: Marvel’s Venom is set for 2025, Marvel’s Wolverine for 2026, and Marvel’s Spider-Man 3 in 2028. Also, a fresh Ratchet & Clank in 2029, Marvel’s X-Men in 2030, and a mystery IP in 2031/2032. This lineup might get a shake-up, so don’t set it in stone.
They even let loose the specifics on the X-Men deal — $120 million for game development, $30 million for marketing, and a target of having all X-Men games out by 2035, hitting both PlayStation and PC.
Hold onto your seats! The Venom game is named Venom: Lethal Protector, tying into Spider-Man 3 post-Spider-Man 2 events. It’s like Miles Morales for Spider-Man, giving an 8–10 hour standalone buzz. And they’ve got a release window for Q2 2025, priced at $49.99.
Spider-Man 3? Buckle up — there might be two parts dropping, with the first one in holiday 2027 and the second in holiday 2028. Multiplayer’s tagged for the first drop. Oh, and a combo game in 2029. But hey, it’s all up in the air now.
Final Words
Game companies are sweating bullets over these attacks. Capcom took a hit in 2020, leaking plans for Dragon’s Dogma 2 and Street Fighter 6. Cops finally caught the ransomware squad in October.
And just last year, GTA 6’s secrets got snatched and leaked online. One of the hackers involved got nailed with a bunch of charges after a lengthy trial in August. These hackers sure know how to stir up trouble!
