MONTHLY ACHIEVEMENTS 4
Four Months Baby and Growing!
Medium’s community, failures, and goals — Let’s get it!
This past November, I had failures but also lots of achievements! I have learned so much already and I can’t imagine what else is yet to come. I am extremely grateful, I had no idea I would even get here when I first started my Medium journey. I hope this new passion of mine can be extended forever!
Sadly, one of the failures is that I only experimented with two new formats. I usually write more poetry but this month was for sure full of random ideas. You’ll get to see why down below.
The first new method was an etheree poem in which you have an increase of syllables with every line. This piece is about the uncertainty of the future and what we can do to keep moving forward. I would like to thank Priya Tandon and A Shayens Abran for the opportunity to publish in Be Open.
The other new format I tried out was by sharing a photo and a six-word description. I do have to say that I have tons of photographs but I rarely share them, so this was a perfect possibility to do so. Mary Chang Story Writer was so helpful in this new journey!
For the mega failure that was not that of a mess was my article describing my failed attempt at the 30-Day Challenge. I wanted to publish 30 different pieces to 30 different publications…but I only did 17. I did learn about this experience and now I know what else I can do to change this outcome. I will hopefully try again in the next few months.
Now come to the success stories! 😃 This past month I wrote my 100th piece! Like I said at the beginning, I can’t believe that this Medium journey has come thus far!
I also had my first article that has had a total of more than one thousand claps! It’s motivating and these mini-milestones keep me thriving with more and more passion.
The biggest milestone of them all was to be considered a Top Writer! This month was just a jaw-dropping path. Travel has also been a passion of mine and sharing articles with others is wonderful. There are weekly prompts! I hope you check out this section and other columns at the Coffee Times.
Another curiosity of this platform is that I recently doubled my views and reads for a single piece and it was thanks to the article down below. I love kpop and who guessed it would attract more people from the outside. I guess someone shared it on their socials or something similar.

In last month’s review, I had set some goals and…drum roll…I achieved them all! For the concrete and objective goals, I amazingly achieved more than 555 followers, I did get that 1k piece and I got 20 bucks (but boo for the taxes lol)! YEAH! There are many writers who I follow who have also achieved so many goals! Let’s celebrate!
For every month’s goals, I will always have the first ones to be the same because I think that I can always improve.
Goals for this month
- Have better organization and perfect the quality of my pieces.
- Read more pieces and engage with other fellow writers.
- Be more productive and therefore write every single day…even if it’s just to share a thought, idea, quote, photography, or a quick reflection.
- I would like to surpass the 600 followers by the end of the year.
- Finishing with 25 bucks would be awesome.
I recently read a piece mentioning that we can’t set specific goals such as getting such and such followers or the money you will get because it will ultimately not depend 100% on you and your work but I think it can set a guideline. I know that I can be more active if I already have certain goals written down.
As always, I would like to give a huge THANK YOU to Thief, Umme Salama, B.R. Shenoy, Julie Gaeta, Mulan, Trista Signe Ainsworth, Terry Mansfield, Katie Michaelson, Lady Dr. Gabriella Korosi, Amanda Laughtland, Nancy Blackman, Dennett, and the super funny Gaurav Jain who are always so so supportive! I really appreciate that you take the time to interact with a newbie writer like me.
And of course, I have to mention the creator and co-editors of the Coffee Times publication! Thank you so much Winston, Vidya Sury, Collecting Smiles, Yana Bostongirl, Dr. Preeti Singh, Drashti Shroff, and Marrisa W.
I hope this festive month is full of wonderful and beautiful moments with your loved ones. Let’s appreciate what we have thus far and please continue to be careful with the ongoing global situation.
