Forest Trails, Again

A chapter of a ‘choose your own’ story — drabble edition.

It’s not long before you and Taryn are at the forest’s edge.

“Let’s cut through the trees,” they say, pointing at a narrow stony path.

But you’re nervous. The light trees by the edge looks preferable.

“Piquantia’s mansion is on a small island, an hour into the forest,” they add. “We could circle further, but better to take the direct route.”

“But…”

They pat their spear. “I’ll be at your side.”

Just then, an enormous grizzly charges from among the trees! It swats Taryn aside with its huge paw. You flee, weaving through trees, hearing its thundering paws just behind…

And then you…

1. Sprint down the stony path that Taryn showed you (click here).
2. Lead the bear away, then circle back for Taryn (click here).
3. Try to lose the bear among the trees (click here).
4. Show the bear who’s boss — attack it right now (click here).
