DRABBLE STORY ARC #2: SEEK AND AVENGE

A Sense of Sad Solitude

A chapter of a ‘choose your own’ story — drabble edition.

This is a continuation of The Burned Village, a ‘choose your own’ fiction story, “drabble edition”. Head back to the previous instalment, ‘Forest Trails, Again’, or find out how to contribute by clicking here.

You race through the trees, hurdling logs and diving down banks. You’re soon filthy, but you’ve lost the bear… surely?

You can’t think for sheer terror, so you climb a sturdy chestnut tree and calm yourself, looking out from a high branch.

All you see is greenery, but there’s a distant yelling. Perhaps Taryn found help?

Too risky to check.

You huddle among the branches.

A couple hours later, you summon the courage to descend, then walk on.

Are you going the right way? Hard to say.

Will you see Taryn again? Right now, you’d settle for any friendly face…

Pausing near the path, you decide to…

  1. Try to find the spot where Taryn was hurt (click here).
  2. Give up and move on (click here).
