Waiting until they’ve gone, you rise and move along the path. You’re alone. This is more like it. Who needs to get drawn into other people’s schemes?
Ahead is a mountain valley, well known as a haunt of adventurers — and monsters. But with luck, you’ll be perfectly safe.
You make your way along the lakeside, stopping to wash your face, then hesitate by some caves. Further on, by some light trees, there’s a small cottage, a longbow leaning against it. It’s the only dwelling nearby.
Before long, you’ll need some food. Time to hunt? Or to seek a new quest?
