Abstract

The piece delves into the complex nature of love within romantic relationships, suggesting that the fear of being alone can be a significant motivator for seeking love, rather than love itself. It references the song "I Want To Know What Love Is" by Foreigner to illustrate the longing for love and companionship as a shield against loneliness and heartache. The author highlights the particular difficulties older women encounter in the dating scene, emphasizing that the need to be loved is a fundamental human desire. What is love to you?- Part 2

Fear of Love can Make you Break your own Heart!

Is love in romantic relationships held together by fear of being alone?

Sticking with someone because you are afraid of dying alone is not an original concept. How do you know that you are with someone because you actually love them and it’s not because you are scared to death of being alone?

It’s especially harder out there for older women to find a new love and I wrote why here:

Is love in romantic relationships held together by fear of being alone?

Let’s analyze the words to ‘I Want To Know What Love Is’ by Foreigner, Shall we?

Suggestion: Play the youtube video of the song below while reading the following lyrics…it’s more fun that way.😄

Lyrics

I’ve gotta take a little time A little time to think things over I better read between the lines In case I need it when I’m older

This mountain, I must climb Feels like a world upon my shoulders Through the clouds, I see love shine Keeps me warm as life grows colder

In my life, there’s been heartache and pain I don’t know if I can face it again Can’t stop now, I’ve traveled so far To change this lonely life

I mean, isn’t fear being alone the motivation for finding love here?

I wanna know what love is I want you to show me I wanna feel what love is I know you can show me — by Foreigner

In Part 1 of ‘What is Love Anyway?’ I wrote:

Sometimes people love because “they love how loving you make them feel about themselves.”

What if you just don’t want to feel scared to death of being alone?

Is it so bad that is one of the reasons you are with someone you “love”?

At first glance, that sounds really fucked up. However, It’s totally natural to fear not being loved because being loved is a basic human need.

BUT

Fear of love can make you break your own heart!

That’s why:

I wanna know what love is…I want you to show me! I wanna feel what love is I know you can show me — by Foreigner
