Summary

The article reflects on the nature of love, questioning whether people love others for themselves or for the way loving them makes them feel, and emphasizes the importance of self-love and finding someone who loves you authentically.

Abstract

The piece delves into the complexities of love, suggesting that love is often less about the other person and more about how that person makes the lover feel about themselves. It touches on personal experiences, such as the author's son's brain surgery, to illustrate how some people's expressions of love may be more about their own self-gratification than genuine care for the individual. The author encourages readers to recognize their own worth and to cherish relationships where they are loved for who they truly are. The article also draws inspiration from the Netflix movie "To the Bone," further exploring the theme of authentic love and connection.

Opinions

  • Love is frequently conditional, with people loving others for how it reflects on themselves rather than for the other person's intrinsic qualities.
  • Self-worth is crucial; how you feel about yourself is the foundation of your emotional experience, not the actions or feelings of others.
  • It's important to protect and value relationships where you are loved unconditionally for who you are.
  • The author suggests that people should reject negative self-talk and the limiting beliefs that prevent them from embracing true love and personal growth.
  • The article implies that some relationships may falter or end once the other party no longer gains a sense of self-fulfillment or satisfaction from the connection.

What is love to you?- Part 1

What is Love Anyway…Do They Love You for You?

People say they love you but what they really mean is…

They love how loving you make them feel about themselves.

Or they love what they can get from you. I wrote a bit about that here:

How you feel is never about any one else…it’s about how you feel about yourself.

If you found that diamond who loves you for you….

Protect that

Side note: When you use the voice in your head to push good people away Or blame others for being stagnant or the voice in your head that says you “can’t.” Tell that voice in your head to fuck off!

Fuck off voice!

When my son had brain surgery, I got the feeling that they wanted to help me not because they cared about me so much but because of how it made them feel about themselves. When my son has completely healed some people that were in my life daily just disappeared.

I guess that’s how it is sometimes.

What do you think about love?

What is Love Anyway?

Do They Love You for You?

If you found that diamond who loves you for you

Protect that!
