Emotional Abuse — Detect It Or Die

Emotional abuse can be as devastating as physical abuse. You must detect it before it’s too late…

Emotional abuse is actually a way of controlling other people by using emotions to shame, criticize, and manipulate. This is what has happened to me many times. If you are following my story since day one, you will have an idea that my husband abuses me in one way or another. Sometimes, he pretends to be a nice person but ends up blaming me for the things I have not done. The same can happen to you, so it is integral to identify or detect it before you get mad or lose your life.

Time To Detect Emotional Abuse

If you have decided to take a step toward self-awareness, then you need to detect the problem. In general, your relationship will be called emotionally abusive when your partner will consistently use abusive words, will criticize you for no reason, and will show bullying behaviors. These things can lead you to lose your self-confidence and self-esteem. If the problem is not solved at the earliest, you may develop certain mental diseases like depression, anxiety, and stress.

To be honest, my parents and siblings have never abused me emotionally. This happens only when we get involved with somebody or tie the knot. The person we decide to spend our entire life with sometimes becomes problematic. They may not be able to understand us. Or maybe, they have an unsolvable problem and are criticizing us for personal satisfaction.

Love Doesn’t Mean You Should Tolerate Emotional Abuse

Just because you love your partner does not mean you should allow them to abuse you emotionally. In dating and married relationships, it is very common but you have to understand that love is not as important as your own health and life.

Remember that the underlying aim of emotional abuse is to control the other person by isolating, silencing, and discrediting them.
