TAG TEAM STORY (1)

Don’t Worry Just WRITE!

Do you spend your time fretting about all those stories that haven’t been read?

I’m the first to admit that I spend an awful lot of time and attention on previous stories that didn’t really get read.

Trust me folks, I maybe thinking about those stories, but I’m not wasting my time worrying.

Here’s what I’m doing instead:

WRITING!

Not necessarily writing all new content, or about brand new topics — although that’s always an the table.

Much of the time and attention that I personally devote to thinking about former stories, has to do with creating ways to bring them back to life.

Whether your story catalog consists of 893 stories (like mine), or 8 stories or less; all previously published stories eventually stop getting attention.

No matter who we are, this can be annoying as hell, and often lead to results like this:

This is Why I Won’t Be Busting My Ass on Medium Any More!

But if you stick it out (all for the love of writing), things can change when you least expect it.

For example, after my little rant in the above story, I took some time away from Medium, but gradually found my way back.

Now, just a few months after taking my stand, I found myself writing this about my earnings:

My December Earnings: An Awesome End to 2022!

No brag, just fact.

This just goes to show what can happen, when you buckle down and just write.

So it’s up to the writer to try and keep those previously published stories on the mind of potential readers, especially if you want to see a boost in your stats.

Do I have bad months, and fu*ked up stats sometimes? Yep, more often then you might imagine. But I know if I start to worry, I’ll get down and discouraged.

So instead, I write.

I write new content and sometimes about what’s trending, but I spend an awful lot of time writing stories about stories.

I use my motivation to shine line on previously published stories, then I craft a newer story to help me turn the spotlight on them.

This is evident, in stories like the ones you see listed in the latter half of this story.

This is also true, when it comes to the new format of my Just Like New publication. For a full explanation, read:

Here’s the BEST Way to Use and Benefit from Just Like New!

The focus and objective of this publication is, and always has been, to help writers on Medium earn more money from their previously published stories.

Now allow me to share just one more CRITICAL point…

Writing and producing content is the most important step

It stands to reason that most of us are on the platform to write and hopefully earn money for our stories.

With that in mind, it’s crucial that we realize that writing and producing stories is the all important part of the process.

What you write, wherever you write, and no matter how often you write; the most important key is to get the writing done and get the stories published.

As important as any and everything else may be, none of it matters if you have nothing to show, so WRITE!

Don’t allow that sick feeling in the pit of your stomach called discouragement to throw you off track.

It only breeds disappointment, which in turn leads to inactivity. In other words, you stop writing.

Take some time to read my story titled: Why Are My Older Stories Getting VIEWS in Clusters?

In it, you’ll find cause for celebration, with regard to what often happens to some of our older stories.

Just because they haven’t been read a lot, doesn’t mean that won’t change for some reason or another.

The best way you can help yourself is to not worry about the stories that aren’t earning, all while you continue to WRITE!

TIPS to Help Earn More With Former Stories

This is just a few of the stories I’ve published in the past, and all of them focus on the issue of helping your previously published stories get more reads and earn more money.

Final Thoughts

If you’ve been busy wasting time, worrying about the status of your previously published stories, just STOP.

Sometimes, it has nothing to do with you.

In fact, sometimes it’s all about the reader and the time that they have to devote to reading.

That’s why we should all be thankful for Medium’s “list” feature. I know I sure am.

Why?

Because the stories they may be listing are some of yours. And guess what happens to those stories when they list them???

READ: One More Reason that I’m THANKFUL for the List Feature! [Today’s special “Tag Team” story]

And be sure to refer back to the details brought out in the story cited above about “…Views in Clusters”.

If you decide to spend time thinking about the stories that you hoped would earn you more money, why not use the time and energy to make those stories more appealing and fresh.

Take advantage of the new way to do this, by checking out Just Like New.

This will give you the motivation to stop worrying and just WRITE!
