WRITING SUCCESS
Do You Want Success? This Story Is About Boosting in 14 Publications
And tag me in your writing…
As an experienced online writer who just started out here on Medium, I always use what I have. I always focus on my own talent. And I never compare myself to others.
Why lead another person’s life when I can have my own magical fun life?
What’s my recipe for monetary success? Conversion!
I always look at what I have created before that I can sell in another market or to another person. It’s nice to create. And yes, I do enjoy the creation process. But then I want to sell it and create a comfortable life for me and my daughter May (5). I wanna stop my forklift truck job someday.
I’m not made to suffer as an artist in my attic when I can have success, have impact, and be read as much as I can get the algorithms to swallow. Make a dent in AI with counter-cliché stories.
The repeat in the above picture is super important.
So, let me repeat my motto: Black Mums for President!
Repeat. Persevere. Repeat. Fail. Persevere. Repeat. Persevere. Fail. Persevere. Repeat. Success. Yeah… Success…
Tagged in Stories
I’ve made friends online and offline. Some of them are my colleagues in my projects about Web3 and the sea. Others, I just know from online. I keep an eye on their stories. And I always comment. They keep an eye on mine and we have conversations.
What a great online life you can have like this!
I personally love it!
Today, I was tagged in this story by one of my work mentors. Desiree Driesenaar. I know her from my sea project. I’m the coder. She’s the systemic designer.
And she’s a well-respected writer here too. I often follow her lead. And I can also say very proudly that she sometimes follows my lead. Because I’m younger than her and know much more about algorithms and coding. She was born in a time without computers.
We make a good team.
This is her story I’m referring to.
This story is relevant for all writers here. Because it gives you many editors and publications that are able to boost stories. And we all know by now that boosting is a good way to earn more money with a story and to reach a new audience.
What You Have Close to You
Next step after reading a story that helps me on my success path is that I try to make it relevant to me. So, what do I have close to me I can use for my online story life?
Let me start with my talents, and you can tell me about yours:
- Writing and finding cool free pictures. Being kind. Kicking ass! Using words that inspire a call to action. Friendship. Black beauty. Feminine power. Tech. UX design. Web3. Sea. Free diving.
Let me continue with my non-talents:
- Relationship and sexuality love. Cliché beauty. I don’t do those. No patience for them. And they have only given me shit so far in my life.
Let me tell you what’s close to me I can use for success:
- My daughter May(5). My love for her and my parenting skills. Berlin. My friends. My work in Web3. My experiences. My black, white, and colorful family members.
Now, let’ me relate what stories I have in me to the publications in Desiree’s overview.
- Symbiotica and Kelly Baldwin: not a fit for me. Let Desiree do that one
- Writing Cooperative and Justin Cox: neah. Too big as a publication. I would drown too easily in the amount of stories accepted…
- The Narrative Arc and Debra G. Harman, MEd.: also a no-go for now. She will find me if she wants me. But for now I go more specialized with my talents
- Mystic Minds and Kimberly Fosu: I don’t know. I am spiritual but not in a normal way. I believe in black, very realistic, and ass-on-the-ground Goddesses. And in spinning with 1037 miles per hour through the universe with our feet glued to a rock.
- Fanfare and Eric Pierce: YES. Pop culture. That’s my scene! And maybe my friend Note wants to join me in this one. He broke into my space once already. I’ll discuss with him if he wants to give it a try.
- The Generator and Thomas Smith: YES. Generative AI is just my thingy.
- The Memoirist and Christopher Robin: don’t know. Too far out of my league right now as a starter, I think.
- The Taoist Online and Patrick Stewart: I don’t know how black taoists will be accepted in his space. All this spirituality stuff in American circles is very white. Very Karen. Very, I don’t know. Not me. He might contact me someday and I might change my mind. But for now a no-go.
- Data Engineer Things and Xinran Waibel: YES! This is me. Enough stories to tell!
- UX Collective and Fabricio Teixeira: YES! This is me too. I’ll try to get in here to tell all my coding stories. Just as I’ve already been accepted in Code Like a Girl.
- AfroSapiophile and Johnny Silvercloud: YES! This will be my first try. Intelligent black stories. That’s me.
I already wrote a few stories that became popular overnight.
A Secret — Why the Father of My Daughter Doesn’t Know about Her
& Why AI is Bad for Black People and Minorities
& How the Medical World Robbed a Black Women and Made Immortal Cells
I will write more and more and more and get them accepted in these wonderful intelligent black people environments.
12. The Riff and Kevin Alexander: We’ll see. Maybe some stories together with my friend Note. He’s very infuential with his music and his knowledge on everything musical.
13. Modern Woman and ADEOLA SHEEHY-ADEKALE: YES. I know her name from somewhere. For a bit I thought she was already a follower or had commented on one of my stories. But I can’t find her. However, her picture looks like she might understand me. She’s definitely going to be on my priority list.
14. Wise and Well and Robert Roy Britt: I’m not sure. Maybe some health stuff and parenting stuff with May. Would tie in nicely with my environmental work with water and Web3.
Parenting & Motherhood
I’ll still be on the lookout for some parenting editors and motherhood publications. And some wildly feminine ones. If you know any of those that do boosting, I’m interested!
And now my question for you. Are you a reader? A consumer. Or are you a creator of worlds? With words? And other creative goodies?
What are YOU going for? What’s out there for you in the form of publications to boost your talents and impact?
Tell me. Tag me. And let’s talk. That’s what I like most online. Our conversations. So, let me tag some of my followers and people I talked to already and ask them what they go for.
Hey, my friends, what do you go for? Any tips and tricks?
